ice grillin you

as sun pointed out the two situations are not even remotely the same...TO has a fat long term contract and has made good money for a long time...westbrook has made peanuts during his time in the league and is on a 1 year tender

and are you seriously comparing westbrook answering a question at a presser about his value to the team to what TO did during the off season

laughable
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

No, brain surgeon, I'm not.

I'm saying one turned it off and is JUST PLAYING FOOTBALL now and the other is still rambling on and on about his contract.

If you can't see that, your laughable comment is a classic pot, kettle, black moment.

But they should be given the benefit of the doubt. When/if Westbrook is allowed to walk, then criticize. I'll be the one leading that charge, by the way.

i agree, i guess i just assume he's gone because we've seen this play out before.  Westbrook didn't sign the extension when they wanted him too or for what they wanted, so I just assume he's gone.  If he's here after this year, I'll thank the FO just like everyone else, but I just don't think it's going to happen.

QuoteSun Mo...you are saying basically that is okay that Westbrook is still running his mouth about the contract DURING the season right after a big win. But its NOT okay that TO talked about it before the season but now shut up.

i agree with you, Westbrook shouldn't be talking about.  however, if he was asked a question, that's not as bad as just spouting off after the game.  the one thing i disagree with you about is the fact that you make it sound like Westbrook is doing a media blitz like TO did in the offseason.  maybe I'm forgetting an instance, but i think Westbrook only spoke about yesterday and a few weeks ago when he announced they cut-off negotiations.  before that, he hadn't said anything to anyone.

We have seen situations similar to this play out before. But none of the players have been a person as important to the team like Westbrook is.

Andy is offense. That is his baby. And if his boy Donny Mac says he wants Westbrook, he'll get Westbrook.

If they allow him to leave they will lose this team in the locker room. Because McNabb is one of the guys who holds it together and he'd be pissed if Westbrook is allowed to walk.

Mo & IGY,

Do you guys follow other teams? This happens everywhere. The arrogance and information leaking happens in every NFL city. Shoot, it happens in everyday life too with our government.

Did you follow the Keenan McCardell hold-out in Tampa last year?
Did you notice that San Diego SUSPENDED their start TE?

Imagine if Reid suspended a guy like that and the Birds lost by 4 points because of it.

This happens everywhere, guys.

while i agree, people will never beleive that.

when the eagles win big, it's because of themselves, not how bad a team is
when the eagles lose, it's because of how bad the eagles are, not how good the opponent was
when the eagles win close, it's because they let someone stay in the game, not because of the good competition.

the way people are bitching and complaining, playing MMQB is completely typical.

go look at the raider nation thread, people are laughing at the raider fan reactions on their boards, but then look at the other threads here where the same people laughing at the raider fans, are reacting the same way, except the eagles won.

of course, they are all smarter than the people running the team, and would have made every correct decision and won 70-0 had the eagles done what they wanted ::)

just once, i think i would like to see the eagles run 55% of the time and lose by 2 TDs just to shut people up. but of course, they would bitch about something.

good point.  the one thing i might use as a counter to your point is that Donovan really wanted Duce to stay, and has said so in a couple of interviews, and they let him go.  but Duce is obviously a different player than Westbrook.
