Their defense stinks. We'll be up by 14 and won't have to worry about Jordan pounding out yards against us.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

if oakland gives up an early big play or two as sf did this game could be a usc type score...they have zero intestinal fortitude and will implode if they face early adversity

mcnabb is gonna blow up in this game...i originally thought his breakout game would be against oakland not sf...but sunday he might only play a half

After watching Oakland the last two weeks I have a few observations as to why I think the Birds could possibly drop another 40+ on a team this week.

1. Take a look at the Raiders OLBs. They are playing Grant Irons and Tyler Brayton at OLB. Both of those guys are converted DEs who are too slow to play OLB in a 4-3 defense. Brian Westbrook should probably just motion out of the backfield 20 times on Sunday. Why? Becacuse can you see those lumbering fools trying to cover Westbrook? Ha! And Little John Smith is going to feast on those clowns too.

2. Oh, so you say "well, their OLBs won't be covering Westbrook"? Well let SS Derrick Gibson and/or FS Stuart Schweigert try to cover Westbrook and/or Smith.

3. TO will likely be shadowed by Charles Woodson, which doesn't scare me. But if Woodson isn't on TO or when Andy moves him around in formations (and you know he will) then TO will get to feast on Gibson, Schweigert, Nnamdi Asomugha, Renaldo Hill, Fabian Washington and Stanford Routt. My point? Oakland's secondary sucks.

4. The Raiders run defense is pretty decent. Although they miss a lot of tackles at times. But if the Eagles get Westbrook to those edges like today - big plays are there to be had.

5. Kerry Collins is still as unreliable as ever. The blitz and regular pass rush is going to force him away from that deep ball. He better be ready for a lot of 3 step drops because that is all he's going to have time to complete. Randy Moss has been shut down twice by Jim Johnson's system. That will not change.

The only thing that I see as a concern this week are:

1. Chris Carr's returns. Harbaugh's boys better be disciplined this week. That guy is fast and he can take punts or kicks to the house in a blink.

2. Ted Washington against Hank Fraley/Artis Hicks. That slab of beef is the kind of DT that the Birds struggle to contain. Although he'll never catch Donovan, he could create trouble.

3. LaMont Jordan is a pounding back. The Birds need a lead early to take him out of the game so they can get after Kerry.
Yup... LaMont Jordan is my only real concern when talking Raiders.  But like what was pointed out earlier, I really expect the Eagles O to be rolling again so his running shouldn't be an issue for most of the game.

This is a game tailor made for Westbrook to show his talents out of the backfield.  The Raiders really don't have anyone who can stay with him without exposing the big play for TO to exploit.  I watched the KC game as well and yeah, their OLB's are dead if they have to handle Westbrook.

On a side note, even more incentive for Westbrook.  He wants LaMont Jordan-type money?  What better way to make his case than to outperform the guy who's contract he wants to match while he's across the field?

My only concern about this game is that the Raiders are going up with their backs against the wall, if they go 0-3 they will be in serious trouble.  That being said I still think the Eagles will win but it may be slightly difficult.

The Eagles fear of going 1-2 is greater than the Raiders fear of going 0-3.

The Raiders can stop the run, they showed that the first 2 weeks, but I do think we could throw on them all day.

What he said.

Our run defense has been pretty good, but our pass coverage is horrible.

We promise we'll give you a better outing than the 49ers did last week, ok?

I sure hope so. We were bored in the stands by the 3rd quarter.

Eagles dont run anyway.  You might as well try and run the silver dollar defense.

TO vs Oakland:

2000 = 12 catches, 176 yds, 2 TDs
2002 = 12 catches, 191 yds

Both times, he was covered by Woodson...  :)

that was during a three year stretch when Woodson had a sever case of turf toe... so servere that he wasn't cleared to play. SO he took pain shots and went against the team and played anyway... No excuses and no injuries this time. This is the matchup I've been waiting for!
