So, I just got a call from a retired man drumming for the Republican National committee, trying to scare me into donating.

"The Democrats are immobilizing behind Hillary Clinton."
"George Soros, who has been called a Marxist and an Atheist, is dumping millions into her campaign and throwing his support behind her, and he's been called a Marxist and Athiest" (Yes, he got that part in twice within 5-10 seconds.)
"Moveon.org has just donated hundreds of millions..."
"It's obvious their goal is to take over the House and put the very liberal Nancy Pelosi in charge to be at the forefront of Hillary's campaign."
etc, etc...

I let him continue (reading theonion.com at the time and was slightly amused by him), then I finally interrupt him.

"Frankly, I don't like the direction of the Republican party very much, either.  You can count on my vote if it's between Hillary and almost anyone else as the lesser of two evils, but I have better things to do with my money.  Didn't you hear about that little rainstorm that hit the Gulf coast area?"

"Yes, that's terrible.  Can we at least count on you for twenty or twenty-five dollars?"

"No, you absolutely cannot.  Bye."
