childish namecalling aside, i just don't see the niners offense doing much of anything tomorrow.  the eagles played like crap & still held the falcons to 14 points last week...and the falcons have an excellent running game.  the niners offense just doesn't stack up, imo.
they'll be lucky to score 10 points, imo.

so that's why i'm going with:

eagles- 100
niners- 0

:-D

I have no problem making fun of myself, it's the only reason I can hang here and keep it real.

Let's go a little farther with the Niner/Eagle predictions. I'll predict another 100 plus yard game for Owens, and 100 plus all purpose from Bwest. Also, 300 plus passing yards from Dmac.

Yeah, I've really gone out on a limb haven't I?

99% of the "fans" that have posted on here this week from your fanbase have been completely ignorant. I mean, COMPLETELY. Factually inept. Its great to love your team, but don't troll on an opposing teams' board...one that has owned the NFC for years now....and spew the nonsense that has been oozing out of your mouths all week. You look like asses to the highest degree.

:'(

You're mean.

PhillyGirl

I didn't say you.

But you sure took that to heart.

I think the Eagles win easily ....

37 - 17.

That being said, and it may have been mentioned already, I have seen some of the ugliest smackdowns laid on these two teams by each other on the others home fields. Koy whooped up on them two years ago in Frisco before getting hurt, and I remember Charlie Garners coming out party in San Fran, that may have been the 40-8 ers game. Conversly, I don't remember the Eagles ever beating the 49ers here in Philly. I recall the Monday Night game under Rhodes where we got thoroughly embarassed and that guy shot off a flare gun. I also remember sitting through a 4th quarter comeback where the Eagles surrendered a 20 point lead under the fire of a 3 or 4 TD barrage by Joe Montana in the late 3rd and 4th quarter. Impressive to see, but no fun to watch.

Should be interesting.

Did I actually read someone earlier in this thread say that the 49ers will establish a running game tomorrow?

Isn't sucky Kevan Barlow still their starting RB? The guy who had 14 carries for 22 yards (1.6 average) last week against the Rams, and averaged 3.4 yards per carry in 2004??

:-D

No way, dude, you don't know what you're talking about.  He's WAY worse than that.  Frank Gore, on the other hand, will light up your world.  You'll see.  Only 23 hours and 1 minute till kickoff.

Well, I'll let you know what my opinion is even thought you probably don't give a... errr.. shtein....

The Eagles have a very good team. They have recently been a consistently good team. They lost a road game to another good team, Atlanta. They lost this game because of Atlanta's defense and running game. Also, McNabb was likely effected by his injury. His accuracy seemed a bit off to me.

The 49ers have a young team in the rebuilding stage. They have recently had a consistently mediocre team. They have also recently (the past two seasons) had a horrendous coaching staff. I do not say that they have had a bad team because they have many talented players on defense, but a very unproven offense. Last season was only as bad as it was because of injuries to multiple defensive starters. However, they have a new coaching staff now and the injured players have returned. They won thier game at home against one of the better offenses in the league, the Rams. The Rams also have an underrated defense, in my opinion. They won this game with defense, special teams, and trick plays. Also, Rattay led the offense well and didn't make any mistakes, except a questionable fumble on one of his two sacks. The game wouldn't have been so close if the 49ers had been able to run the ball and control the clock.

I do not disagree that the 49ers may have a hard time putting up over 20 points against a very good Eagles defense. However, I will disagree that the Eagles will have an easy time on offense. I think that many Eagles fans are underestimating the 49ers defense because of the statistics that the Rams put up against them. In response to this I must point out that the Rams held the ball for 40 minutes during the game and that Bulger passed the ball nearly 60 times. This was not the fault of the defense, but of the offense failing to control the clock. I believe that what it will come down to is how well the 49ers can run the football and control the clock. If the defense has to stay on the field like it did in the game against the Rams, they will likely get tired and give up points. If the 49ers can run the ball I think that they have a chance to win. If they can't and Rattay is forced to throw the ball with any regularity, I expect the Eagles pass rush to shut him down. I think that the 49ers can get pressure on McNabb as well. This will be made even easier by his reduced mobility because of his injury. If the 49ers do pressure McNabb, then I don't expect a good game offensively from the Eagles.

I cannot predict who will win. I can say that I don't think it will be a blowout for either team. I think the score may be closer to the Eagles last game.

I wish your team luck and hope to see both teams come out of this game without further injury. May the best team win!
