Levens should be added at FB over Ritchie & Parry. Here's why...

Reid doesn't run many plays involving a FB.
Levens has the size, experience, blocking ability, & hands to play FB in the WCO.
He offers additional insurance at short-yardage RB.
He can draw on his vast knowledge of the WCO & Eagles scheme to tutor whichever big RB we add this weekend (Gordon, Morris, Hollings, F-M, etc.).

Both Ritchie & Parry are fringe NFL players and either would be kept simply to fill the designated FB spot.  However, neither has earned it based on his play.  Ritchie is washed up b/c of the pounding he has taken, his age, and most importantly, his gimpy knee.  Parry was never a bonified pro on ability-- simply a midseason injury fill-in last year, that's all.

Levens keeps himself in immaculate shape and hasn't had any real tread on his tires in a long time, so he's probably a few years younger in football terms than his age indicates.

Oh, and he can return kicks if necessary as well.

Interesting thought, but what makes you think Levens wants to play FB?  Sure the FB gets some pass catching opportunities, but he also has to do the lead blocking for a full season.  I dont see Dorsey wanting to lead block for Westbrook all year.  Even if the Eagles dont run a lot.

anyone else you think should be added or make the team?  we'll start one thread for you to post your 'Here's why' thoughts.  it would be way kewl.

Reid doesn't run many plays involving a FB.so why bring in an old RB to play a position he's never played?

Levens has the size, experience, blocking ability, & hands to play FB in the WCO.
so does Ritchie.

He offers additional insurance at short-yardage RB.picking up a big RB would do the same thing.

He can draw on his vast knowledge of the WCO & Eagles scheme to tutor whichever big RB we add this weekend (Gordon, Morris, Hollings, F-M, etc.).why bring him in to use a roster spot when you have position coaches?

So, you're saying that Ritchie sucks and Levens would be a better blocker?  Just Curious, is the ground red and the air thin where you are??  :paranoid

I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Yeah, I say thee nay on this one. Ritchie is infinitely better as a FB than Levens. The idea of converting Levens to a FB is just bad.

Man, at first I saw the Mahe thread, and was wondering where all the hate was coming from for starting a thread like that.....than I saw this, and several others just like it.

Levens as a return man?  :-D

Just when I thought Brian Mitchell was the slowest ever, Levens wouldn't reach the 5 out of the end zone before he ran into a wall of players.
