As an analogy, lets go back 10 years.

Merck Sharp and Dohme spends 100s of millions to buy a major insurance company.  That was fine, until they then said only Merck drugs would be covered under this insurance company's policies.

Feds came in and slapped that shtein, hard, and forced Merck to divest the insurance company, at an enormous loss.

We'll be seeing a coaching cap in the very near future.
Myabe a coaching cap will happen eventually, but the analogy is flawed.
That was the Fed Govt policing a service related industry.

This cap would only happen when all the owners agree to it, not some outside regulatory body.  They have a hard enough time agreeing on things as it is.

ice grillin you

coaches lose games players win them....unless youre truly one of the greats...and none of the coaches currently on the skins staff are that...gibbs was but clearly he even knows hes finished

moral of the story is until the skins get a good qb...which isnt anytime soon...they arent going anywhere near the superbowl without a ticket

I don't think that's correct.  I think they'd only need 2/3 to get it approved, and there are a helluva lot of small market owners out there who'd like a shot at some of them coaches on the Skins sideline.
Flat out, Danny is using the existing rules to his advantage.  Good for him.  But it won't last forever.
Anyone but Reid.

Even if what you say is right, that's where Campbell is supposed to come in.

Synder has a reputation for being meddling for things that happened in the past.
Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith helped Snyder make money, but didn't make the team more competitive, and it always seemed like Snyder was somehow influencing those moves.
But the team hasn't signed a Jeff George in a while, so it possible he's learned from his mistakes.  At least it seems that way.  People can knock him, but he definitely wants to put a winning product on the field.    :-D
As an owner, just sign the checks, and listen to your coaches.  I don't give a shtein what else you do.

You morons always buy into Snyder's shtein. Snyder is great at making Skins fans think that because of what he does in the offseason, this will be the year for the Skins. All the big name free agents got you what? Nada. Bringing back Joe "The Saint" Gibbs? A 6-10 season followed by a sneak-in to the playoffs in the horrible NFC- how will ol'Joe fair with an aging QB, no pass rush, a small, unproductive receiving corps, and zero depth in the secondary and the lines, in an improved, healthy NFC East? Hiring a lot of head coaches to make the big push? It'll still get you nada. It will however keep you buying the shtein from the Official taterskins stores in the malls, listening to his bought "Sports Talk" radio stations, paying for the over-priced parking, the ultra-expensive tickets, and nursing his sky-high priced beer in his dump of a stadium. Have a nice farging offseason waiting to be ass-raped watching and/or following your over-hyped, underachieving, joke of a football team. You farging lemmings.

Nothing can inspire that kind of ire outside of being an Eagles fan forced to live in the DC area. Nothing.

Why is Gibbs not one of the greats??  Has he not turned around a franchise that couldnt do anything right and taken them to the playoffs and won a playoff game in only two seasons.  I would bet Gibbs is not finished, in fact, he is just getting started.  I would venture to say find a coach with ten years+ experience that has achieved a winning % better than Joe Gibbs.   Shula and Lombardi may be the only coaches that surpass Gibbs winning %.  And both of those guys had dominant teams in eras when the competiton was not as strong as it was when gibbs forged his record.

Your qb comment is unfounded, Gibbs won 3 sb's with average qbs.

In an era where the owner could spend as much money as he wanted to keep the rest of the team together. You give any team the same offensive line for a decade and they'll be able to run an offense with subpar talent. This ain't 1988, dude.
