Then how come not one person on any Bills MB heard this except from Philly fans? Bills fans are saying the dude on WIP is full of shtein.

sis you just completely ignore what i said when i just wrote: "more than likely he was just straight up lying"

or do you just like to argue?

btw people simon>>>>>>>>>>>>rayburn dont be ridiculous

My comment was directed towards you, it was WIP bashing. If Spikes was on sports radio in Buffalo, don't you think at least ONE single Bills fans might have heard that HUGE news? lol

They didnt. The clown who called in started shtein for no reason.

There is no way the Eagles trade Simon for a linebacker.  Period.  Dumbest rumor evAr.

Unless that linebacker is Brian Urlacher.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Ha.  Urlacher's an exception to every rule, though.

QuoteLeo Roth, of the Democrat-Chronicle, reports Buffalo Bills general manager Tom Donahoe said there is nothing of substance to a published report that the Bills made inquiries about obtaining Philadelphia Eagles' DT Corey Simon.

PhillyGirl

Isn't that usually the case when it comes to Eckel? lol

The Phila Inquirer this morning reported several interesting things, in regard to Simon:

  • Joe Banner said yesterday that the Eagles have not been contacted by the Bills about Simon.

  • The Eagles have been contacted by two teams about Simon since training camp opened, according to an unnamed league source who did not identify the teams (although the article later identified them as the Bengals and the Ravens). The source said the Eagles and these teams agreed on compensation for Simon, but the trade was contingent on those teams being able to sign Simon to a contract...both teams deemed his salary demands too high. The source said a third team contacted the Eagles during the offseason, but backed off when told of Simon's contract demands.

  • The Eagles haven't spoken with Simon's agent (Roosevelt Barns) in quite some time, because the sides are so far apart. Because multiple teams have now passed on Simon due to his contract demands (which should tell his delusional ass something), the article said it is even more likely that Simon will play for the Eagles this season for $5.13 million. But, the Eagles do not expect Fat-ass to sign and report until end of August/beginning of September. Says Simon:  "I know my body, and I know what I have to do to be ready to help this team win the Super Bowl."

Knowing what to do and doing it are two different things.  ::)

Perhaps if he had done what he had to do to be ready LAST year, he'd have a fat ass contract with the Eagles or another team...instead of just a fat ass.

well it is certainly interesting to hear that mulitple teams think that Simons demands are too much.   Should be an intersting offseason for Simon next year.

I'm beginning to hate Corey Simon and his agent. I used to be a Simon fan, but shtein. Open your eyes, Corey!!

The Eagles are not going to give you the ridiculous amount of money you and Rosie want. If you want a fat pay-day STFU and sign the $5.1M tender and get into camp and earn that big money for next year.

This makes 3 trades that Simon & Barnes have farged up with those crazy demands.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Assuming Simon signs the franchise tender and is done with the Eagles after 2005, he'll probably get a contract from SOME team that at least sounds really big.  Other teams will be a little quicker to dish out the money in desperation if they don't also have to give up some draft picks.  But, the contract will be backloaded and Simon won't see much of it before they cut his stupid ass for being a lazy piece of shtein.

Eaglez

I think this is getting to a level of absurdity. Offered 5 million to play one year, yet refuses to sign. So you make 5 million this year, potentially win a super bowl, and you don't think that could possibly increase your value for next season, assuming that he has a great year individually too?

It seems as though these 'holdouts' just want to see if they can be the first to break the Eagles brass. It's like a game they are playing. Fortunate for the Eagles they realize the depth they have and are reluctant to give into crazy demands.

jeffreyjpa

I think we don't hear much about Simon right now because both he and the Eagles know he's going to play for Philadelphia this year, he's just skipping camp now because he doesn't want to be in camp. The real concern is obviously what kind of shape he'll be in when he shows up three days before the Atlanta game.

At this point, it's almost a foregone conclusion that 2005 is his last season as an Eagle...unless he comes in in great shape and has a phenomenal season, he won't be Franchised again next year, and Patterson will take his leading spot in the rotation in 2006.
