Imagine the absolute worst of the worst people on The Walking Dead (alive ones).

That's the south.  I kid you not.

Now, I live in a moderately progressive beach town but this place is an absolute shteinhole sewer of rednecks of northern and southern persuasion.   Old conservative racist northern iceholes with money mixing among the poor, illiterate southern incest breeders.  That's Daytona Beach.   And honestly, this isn't that bad a place compared to a lot of places I've been in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the rest of the Delaware Valley.  I mean, at least the weather is nice here in the winter.

When you're talking politics it's easy to forget that a heavily red or blue state -- and I mean like Utah or Vermont -- is like 60-70% that color. There's always huge amounts of people who vote differently so it's kinda dumb to write off any state as a bunch of hicks or hippies. Pretty sure there are more conservatives in California than any other state and Texas is up near the top in absolute number of liberals.

where the difference comes in is the kind of conservative you find...in the south you are going to find virulent racist homophobic and super religious conservatives much more regularly...where as the vermont or California conservative is going to be more of a libertarian republican who wants small government that is out of peoples pockets and bedrooms

well vegas is terrific

the fact that i walked back from the cosmopolitan to the venetian and got to our room in the state i was in on friday night defies explanation.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Good call to stay at Venetian.

Palazzo is also great as the rooms are a little bit better.

Win?

Wait a sec - you drank? Booze?!

MDS

i pretty much broke even...likely a little down but who's counting

learned how to play craps and had a blast until our last run. wasnt pretty. had a strong roll my first time doing it (lasted 4 turns, hit 7/11 a few times when it was off), then not so much. oh i love the field bets.

drank more on the first night. second night was a combo of no sleep and booze making me feel near death. im old.

Lol I thought you didn't drink. Good job doing Vegas right.

Craps is awesome. You can win fast or lose fast but there's nothing better than a hot craps table. Make sure to play odds behind your pass line bet. And the field bets are not always the best based on math. But farg it sometimes it works out good. I hit nine field numbers in a row once. I don't play field but this one dude who was at the table won a nice chunk.

hopefully you won at least ten bucks to pay for your tailgate sandwich from last week

I'm going out of the country next month and it doesn't look like there will be a sports bar where I'm at to catch the Eagles/Falcons game.

I've never watched a game over the internet before. Is it possible to pay to watch just that game and not for a whole season? If so, what service do I use?

Sgt PSN

I'm not aware of any a la carte options, but there's usually plenty of live feeds available. Worst comes to worst, you could probably subscribe to Sunday Ticket mobile for the week and then cancel after the game.

No, do this-- it works GREAT. Before you go, sign up for a free account using this link: http://watch.ustvnow.com/refu/2htWb2rVgVpMWSEv7cE7WyD5Bkoe

When you sign up, make sure you say you live someplace OTHER than the US.

It's a service designed to let soldiers and ex-pats watch US channels...but it's also a way to skirt some of the NFL broadcast garbage. I've been using it to watch the Eagles in the NYC area. The service is crystal clear if you have a good internet connection. I've used it to watch on my PC and my phone. I've even used my Chromecast to stream it to TV. Very clear picture, zero interruptions.

Beermonkey

That's perfect!! Thanks
