I've lived in Florida since 1993 and still have never been to the Magic Kingdom.  And if I have my choice, I never will.

well i enjoy vacationing by myself in the mountains.....so even a "good" time to go to disney world would be dreadful for me

i completely understand the need to go for your kids but any adult that actually enjoys disneyworld is a weirdo....my wifes best friend wanted to go there for her honeymoon

Disney is my favorite place on Earth. I admit Im a weirdo. I don't understand how people can dislike it there but I don't judge.

Chuggie...you can't compare disney land to disney world. There's 6 different parks (2 water, magic kingdom, animal park, MGM, Epcot) not to mention downtown disney/treasure island etc.

SunMo

Universal isn't a Disney property, but it is right in Orlando.  You are thinking of MGM Studios or whatever they call it now
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Geowhizzer

I think it's just called Disney Studios now.

California adventure is cool. But I just can't see myself spending what would be the same amount for a trip to Europe to visit Disneyworld. I'm just not into the Disneycharacter stuff. I know its different when your kids are all into it...I get it. Something you can treasure with your family forever. That's worth it all by itself. But even since I was little I never had any interest in it.

It sounds better than what I pictured based on what you're saying. I imagine a small piece of earth...all Disney...and just walking around...getting lost and finding new shtein? Like, too big to be true? I'm not going to ask how much you've dropped, but I imagine safely about $3k per person.

I guess the last time i went was 15 years ago, I had more fun drinking with Tommy Smothers at a party there than in the parks.  I hate lines so thats my biggest gripe, that and I hate people.  Combine the two and I'm angry at the world.

As far as IGY you're correct.  Any adults who go there without kids are total weirdos.  They're the type who wear Tigger jean jackets year round, and they have no less than 6 pets.

I'm sure at some point maybe I'll change my mind, the wifey has an Anti Disney thing going which helps.

By the way, if I came across as bashing Disneyworld, I'm not. In fact, it should be celebrated you are able to take your tribe on vacation. Enjoy the shtein out of it. Not many people have that opportunity and I know it will be something you all will remember for the rest of your lives. Don't waste your time worrying about the Eagles during your vacation...they'll only ruin it for you, and your life.

Do the rich folk still bring kids with disabilities so they can hop to the front of the line?

Just got back from Vegas, and goddamn there's so much to do.  Unfortunately I missed out on visiting the porn convention while AVN was in town.  Stupid job

PhillyPhreak54

Was that your first time there?

I have been multiple times and still haven't done half the shtein I have wanted to do

Munson

Did you take any cards from Hbionic on the strip?

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

BigEd76

heh.....I only a saw a few of those.  The Arab/Russian/Mexican Chewbacca demanding $20 for pics was great.  "YOU WORK TIPS, I WORK TIPS"

Here's what I visited on this trip:

MGM Grand (pretty much everything in it, including the conference/meeting area)
Caesars Palace
Bellagio (saw Cirque du Soleil "O" and watched the water dance thing out front a couple times)
Cosmopolitan
Stratosphere
Cabo Wabo (Planet Hollywood)
Downtown Container Park
Fremont Street Experience (the area with Golden Nugget and Binion's steakhouse that has the animated roof overhead)

(I also visited Zappos.com HQ in the old city hall building and went past the Heart Attack Grill and the Pawn Stars shop)
