We already have our disappointing, big-mouth receiver from that draft.  Only one allowed per team.

I totally cannot believe the Deadskins are considering giving Rolle a $15M signing bonus.

They have got to be the laughingstock of the NFL right now.

Actually, now that I think about it, I doubt many GM's are laughing at the prospect of Rolle receiving a $15M signing bonus.  In fact, they're probably furious @ the stupidity of it.

That $15 million figure looks familiar.  Could that have possibly been the signing bonus that Smoot wanted from the Skins to begin with?  Oh well, Pinky won't have Smoot to punk around anymore.  Samari, on the other hand, will be well acquainted with TO - as the 'taterskin CB in the TO highlight reel for the news.'

Reactions from Joe Banner's staff:  ??? :o :sly

Reaction of Samari Rolle's agent:  :D ;D :deion :yay :yay

Reaction from Skins fans:  :boom :puke

Reaction from Rest of NFC East:  :-D :-D :-D :evil >:D >:D >:D

Once again, just when you think that the taterskins could have been in a position to start making a bid for 2nd place in the NFC East, they make a bank breaking deal (last year Brunnell, this year Rolle) that they will come to regret in the future.  This time, they may come to regret this one before the season hits the halfway point.

Edit:  Almost forgot - I guess this means no Randy Moss, Raider-trade screw-up or not. :-D

Please select your blitz package:  Zone, Darth, Mad Tiger, Train Wreck, Monster, Kitchen Sink, Jail Break, or Bench Press (new!)

Don't know if it's been posted, but it looks like Rolle won't be going to the Skins after all.

http://washingtonpost.com/taterskins/news

"Meanwhile, reports of Washington's imminent signing of cornerback Samari Rolle are false, said several sources familiar with the situation. According to one club source, Rolle hasn't even been on Washington's list of free-agent targets, largely because of his asking price. One of the hottest rumors at the Indianapolis combine was Rolle going to Washington for a signing bonus of up to $15 million. (Gregg Williams, Washington's assistant head coach of defense, was Rolle's defensive coordinator at Tennessee for Rolle's first three NFL seasons. And Rolle is a former teammate of taterskins safeties coach Steve Jackson.) However, the misinformation was apparently spread to exploit owner Daniel Snyder's reputation for free spending while increasing Rolle's value in free agency. According to one NFL source, Rolle is scheduled to visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday. "

Damn, his value was terrible. But he was a big time bust. He was the highest paid DT in the NFL last year.
