Yeah, I watched that on the xbox last night. Looks different, but good. SD, did you pick up Minerva's Den?

No what is Minerva's Den? I'm assuming it's downloadable content. I can't fathom paying for more of a game when I already shelled out $60. How does that work anyway? Every time I've gone to download something it says it cost 500 points or some shtein, how do you even go about purchasing that?

Minerva's Den is DLC for Bioshock 2. First time I ever downloaded it, because I feel the same way you do. That said, since I picked up Bioshock 2 cheap anyway, and I really liked it, I figured I'd check it out on a whim. I was glad I did, though. It's an independent Bioshock 2 story, with different weapons and plasmids that are pretty cool. And the story itself is probably more compelling than the original Bioshock 2 story. It's probably about a 6 hour campaign, but I liked it enough to play through it twice. Not a bad use of $10.

As far as the points go, you can get them over xbox, buy them online, or buy them on a card at a store like Bestbuy. There are some reviews out there on it if you're interested. If you liked Bioshock 2, though, you'd certainly like it.

I didn't realize it was 6 hours worth of gameplay, I thought maybe 2 at most. I may check it out when I finish nerding out with Dragon Age Origins.

Just a Madden update. They issued another patch the other day, and it's miles better than after the last patch that screwed everything up. Much better.

I  haven't played madden in weeks.  Did they fix the IR problem with Franchise mode?

Haven't checked that...but the gameplay is vastly improved over the last patch. Actually fun to play again. Following that first patch, it was largely unplayable.

They also issued a roster update that improved Vick quite a bit. He's a monster now. My buddy plays with the Cowboys and he's on a six game losing streak of misery.

yeah, they made Vick better, and it seems like they improved the blocking, but that could just be in my head.

Nah, it's dramatically different. I actually feel like I have some control over the outcome again.

NFL Football is in full swing, and so is the latest title update for Madden NFL 11. Many of the features and fixes associated with this patch came directly from you, our loyal Madden NFL community. For this update, the team focused primarily on improving gameplay, online, and general game stability & improvements. Read on to find out more about what to expect when the download completes.

Content Updates:

* Tuned play action blocking to be more effective.
* Tuned kick return blocking to be more effective.
* Tuned injuries to occur in more realistic percentages.
* Tuned GameFlow play calling logic, including lesser chances of same / similar plays being called concurrently.
* Tuned general defensive effectiveness, including locomotion improvements for defenders and miscellaneous pass coverage improvements
* Fixed QB spy 'nano-blitz' exploit.
* Fixed an issue in online team play that allowed defensive captains to force offensive captains in to a no-huddle situation
* Fixed crash bug that was introduced that could occur for some PS3 gamers that were using "My Skill" setting.
* Fixed bug that didn't allow gamers to invite friends to ranked games. Now this is 100% allowed.
* Added new alternate uniforms for Colts and Patriots.
* Corrected a feedback issue related to stat tracking when a player quit during the first half of an online game
* Fixed an issue in Madden Moments LIVE related to stat tracking for those who used the "Play Again" option after completing the game.
* Added multiple stability fixes across a variety of game modes.

Played about 2 hours of Halo: Reach online this weekend.  Got my ass kicked in Team Slayer mode time and time again.  I'd like to blame it on not knowing the maps and weapon locations but I think I may just suck now.  Did ok in the team objective matches.  Overall, I think it's a pretty sweet game, but I am holding judgement until I get to play a little more.
