Sounds like a lot of work to get some names in there.  I know in Madden, on the ps2, people could load custom rosters into a Locker space for things like that, and other people could pull them down.  Way easier way to go...shame they don't support it.

yea i guess i was assuming you could do something similar in xbox. guess not. i am def buying madden though and i guess im going to need that thing when the time comes.

Madden is all online, at least it should be.  So if you go to online options, you would select Roster Update and get it for free.  NHL 07 is like that.  Its all about NCAA rules why they cant have the player names, since they are on scholarships and the like.

The thing is EA's roster updates are often late and wrong. The dudes who have no life and don't get paid are up to date and usually are close to 100% accurate. I can't wait for madden!

The advantage to the PS3 is you can download the rosters right off the net, put them on a usb flash drive and upload them to the ps3.  The 360 has the capability but microsoft doesnt want to open the External Harddrive option because it will cut into 120gb hard drive sales and memory card sales.

i posted a link awhile ago about the new features. most of them prob won't be in the ps2 version due to newer technologies in the next gen systems. you'll still be able to do everything i'm sure, but some of the new animations etc...prob can't be done on the PS2 machine.

hell yea it was. im happy madden looks like the old, as far as movement. the last one on xbox and ps3, just didn't look right, players moved weird, wasn't fluid or realistic. from these videos, looks like they are back on track. 

played 2k08, all pro football, demo on xbox360 - pretty decent. felt alot like the one with TO on the cover, same animations, some new. graphics were great of course. players all are old or made up guys. randall was my QB in the demo. saw names like bosworth, jerry rice, walter payton, montana, etc...

i hate the exclusive nflpa license...

I think NFL2k5 was the best football game ever.  I'm looking forward to the new game, and especially to it's yearly evolutions thereafter.  If they keep doing what they are doing I have no doubt it will be a better game than EA can make

I can live without the NFL license if the game is at least as good as 2k5 was

There apparently is codes for APF2k8 that will give you the NFL jerseys

What's your online handle?  I'm getting it-- and hoping it'll be way better than this year's on the 360, which absolutely blows-- and I'll be looking to get a game in.  I'm zanshin825 on there.

If that rumor is true, it would surprise me.  Such a code would have to be inlaid by the developers; doing so would expose them to extremely expensive litigation.

Which is not to even mention that I don't think they would want people to do that.  They're shooting for a totally different game than the NFL product, even to the point of making it impossible to input team names, player names, etc.  I think they're onto something.

on the downside, I understand that 2k08 has no franchise/season-to-season/owner mode, and lacks other similar 'extra' features.  That's a drag..they need to add all that shtein in newer versions.

No kidding.  I'd think Franchise mode would be a "must".  After awhile of playing, that's the part that keeps the game fresh-- for me, that's the replay value over the course of the year.

As you might have heard a few years ago EA bought the rights to the NFL team and player names. Thus ending all forms of competition in the football genre of games. This year 2K games has released a new football game with out the NFL license. In the game you can create your own teams, and when you do this it gives you a code that if inputed on any other system it will give you that same team on that system. As of right now there are some teams that have been made, but I have a feeling it won't be long before all 32 teams have been made. Here are four 28 of them. If you have any more email me or leave a comment and I will add it to the list. There are some teams with more then one code, just use them both and pick which one you like best.

I see their has been a little confusion on what these are. First off they are not put in by 2K. They are all made by other fans of the game. Also they are not perfect copies of the real teams but their pretty close. These were not made by me, I just found them on the internet and decided it would be a good thing to share. If one of them is yours and you want it removed, let me know.
