Most places say how many they're going to get...so, I'm a little confused as to why the lines would be more than a few over that amount.

Ha! That's great. Dislocated jaw and bruised face, hope it was worth it dipshtein. Walmart is brilliant, 10 PS3's and 50 dudes waiting to get them.

They can easily give the guy a 6-figure settlement.  No big deal.

Oh, and I think the PS3 will be cool...but, like $200 cool, not $600 cool.  No way I'd shell out for that.  Honestly, my PS2 is little more than a Madden machine these days.  Just not enough time to play.

PS3 smashed on launch day

From the same attention whores that brought you SmashMyiPod.com (or .org, can't remember which), comes SmashMyPS3.com. The launch came. A PS3 was purchased by donor dollars. And it got smashed. The site explains:

"We decided to take the whole smashing thing a little further, and destroy things right when they come out, in front of 100s of fanboys who would be quite upset to see their beloved game console smashed. I got nothing against Sony making money. This project only exists for the sole purpose of providing satisfaction to people who hate the PlayStation 3, or just like seeing the reaction of the people who just spend a day in line to get their hands on one of these consoles. Entertainment, nothing more!"

As Maximus once rhetorically asked: "Are ye not entertained??!!"

Eh, only complaint I have is about work.  If I could find away around that little wrinkle, I could easily find ways to spend those 10-11 hours a day.   The kid is great, though....can't get enough of him.  Being a two-year-old seems pretty awesome.  I wish I remembered more of it.

Went to Target tonight and there were about 15 losers camped out along the pavement waiting to buy the new PS3. Sort of reminds me of those imbeciles who camped out for the new Star Wars movies.

They had these losers on the news a few days ago. One dude was like "I'd wait out here for a month if I had to! Hardcore gamer for life!"

It was quite possibly the most homosexual thing I've ever seen. With all that I almost managed to get one today without waiting in a single line. I was about 15 minutes late. No big deal though I'll wait until they get the bugs and glitches ironed out.

PS3 owners: Keep or sell?

Here are a couple of excerpts:

The two PS3 models cost $500 and $600 in the stores, but were selling for between $1,000 and $3,000 on eBay on Friday, with most of them toward the higher end of the range.

What idiot is going to pay $3,000 to get one of these?  Dang, I'd sell, too.

It found that each $600 console costs Sony $840 to make. ISuppli notes that it's common for manufacturers to take a loss on the hardware, calculating that they'll make it up with game sales. Also, component costs should come down in the future.

"Still, the size of Sony's loss per unit is remarkable, even for the video-game console business," iSuppli said.

Interesting.  A darn expensive toy.

it's funny to me that so many people hate on these people who are standing in line, paying lots of cash, making lots of cash reselling, etc.

When I went to Target yesterday morning on my way to work, there was a group of college students already camping out.  There were several college girls there that made a part of me want to camp out as well.  Unfortunately, the gray hair in my goatee and the wedding ring probably made me less attractive to them.

i think it's funny that people wait in "line" until the store opens at midnight to sell them and it just becomes a mad rush at the door anyway.  if it were me, i'd show up at 11:45 and bum rush my way to the front and them laugh at the guy who sat there 2 days
