july 20 is my last day here. i might head out west for a bit before driving back.

I'm....intrigued by this Mexican hoagie thing.

it came with soup or salad...the kid working there kept calling the soup "soap." his mom didnt speak english. cant get that kind of service anywhere else.

Edge of Tomorrow is good if you're into sci-fi.  Last 20 minutes weren't but I enjoyed it a lot before then.

Finally saw Man of Steel.  It was a lot better than I expected after seeing people bitching about it here and on Social media.  I watched it over the course of two nights which made I expect made it more bearable because you're not watching a movie for 3 hours about a dude in a cape.

not many movies have aged worse....granted nolans masterpieces have basically made any previous batman worthless...but even taken on its own that movie is really hard to get thru now

Her - strange movie where Jaoquin Phoenix plays a creepy guy who falls in love with an operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johannsen) and everyone seems to accept it as normal. Overall pretty meh.

22 Jump Street - Didn't love the first one, this one was a little better. Good time sort of flick...some funny scenes.

saw Joe - it was good.  Best I've seen Nicolas Cage in a while.

took a mini-vacation this weekend so I saw a few movies on the plane..

Kick-Ass 2 - took itself a little too seriously this time, but still a fun watch

Gravity - i thought this was really overrated.  I'm not sure why it was nominated for best picture.  I didn't regret watching it, but I felt no emotion or attachment over it.  It's so ridiculously unrealistic and then the whole Clooney scene towards the end...

Dallas Buyer's Club - good movie, depressing to see the way the EPA bends over to Pharma but it shouldn't be surprising.  Jennifer Garner is annoying in every movie she's in.

Saw a couple of animated DC comic movies, they are definitely getting better if you're into that sort of thing.

The Dark Knight Rises - For a movie that was just under 3 hrs it certainly didn't feel like it, which was surprising considering there wasn't very much Batman action. It was a slow movie that somehow went by pretty quickly. Bane was pretty awesome though and Anne Hathaway looked fine as hell as Catwoman.

Battleship - I found this is in my dvr. Apparently I recorded it like 6 mo ago. Don't know why because I had 0 interest in watching it,  but I watched it anyway. It was dumb and it was bad. I originally thought it was just a another alien invasion movie and they just borrowed the Battleship name because it was easier than coming up with one on their own. But then they actually incorporated the game strategy into the movie, which made it way stupid. I-27......FIRE!! And to top it off, after the aliens destroy the Navy, they recruit the surviving crew from the USS Missouri to fire up a 70yr old ship to take out highly advanced aliens. It's like the someone dared the writers to create a movie that gets dumber and dumber with each passing minute.
