Not sure I agree with that at all, Russell.   The only reason to see Charlie Wilson's War was Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

If Affleck were 1/10th the actor that Hoffman or Hanks are it would have measured up better. Even the suspense and tension of refugees hiding from public view was better done in The Debt. But I didn't find it to be as interesting a story, as well scripted or as well acted as CWW. So yeah, 0 for 3.

Not that I'd even try to watch the entire thing, but I couldn't even get past the intro.  SYNC THE FARGING SOUND!

Munson

:-D jesus christ...the intro sounds like a middle school band trying to play the theme

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Just got around to seeing Denzel in Flight.  Meh - wasn't the worst movie I've ever seen but you could see the ending coming a mile away.  Gutless farging Zemeckis bullshtein.  If they had gone the other way it would have at least been worth sitting through two hours of sanctimony from all concerned.

I liked Cheadle, though.  He was awesome.   So was Dan Connor, & Captain Pike from Star Trek & the chick in the beginning was hot as farg.

That reminds me....like 2 weeks ago I saw some Denzel flick that also had Van Wilder in it.  Forget the title, probably because the movie was largely forgettable. Very predictable. Not unwatchable, just nothing to get excited about either.  5/10

Saw I Am Number Four last night. I vaguely remember previews for this movie when it was in theaters, but the description Netflix gives you is pretty misleading.  Had no idea it was going to be a typical teen/high school movie. Douche factor was off the charts bad throughout.  Could have been a cool action/sci-fi flick but it was just a poorly done movie that was so predictable, I shouted out at least 6 or 7 lines immediately before the actors did and wasn't surprised by any of their "twists."  3/10

Just saw the documentary about the Barnes Foundation art collection/move to Philly called "The Art of the Steal."

Absolutely phenomenal.

A+

What is the  general :CF consensus on the movie coming up called, 'The Purge'. Seems like another brainless action/horror flick.

Meh? Eh?
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Never heard of it.  I hate horror flicks, so my opinion would be useless, or more useless than usual.

Edit - I just read a summary of it.  It sounds like the Star Trek episode where people went batshtein crazy during "festival".

The first time I watched Goon I somehow missed the big brawl at the end when the goalies run into each other at full speed. I about pissed myself just now :-D

the rich mans wife - a woman gets caught up in the murder of her rich husband by a psycho who trys to blackmail her...ludicrous plot...horrid writing and worse acting...lifetime type trash...the only positive was that halle berry is the wife

2/10

the breed - five people get stranded on an island that is filled with genetically engineered super intelligent dogs who terrorize them....preposterously cheesy but also fun at times

4/10
