Apparently the new one is terrible. It makes me want to re-watch the old one, which is damn good. I liked it as a kid and then re-watched it as an adult. I was surprised at how much pure propaganda was in there. Just straight up conservative wish fulfillment. But pretty good in it's sillyness, as well as being stuffed with future stars. Fun to watch.

The original was awful.  But i think most of us were young when it came out so we loved it.  But it was still really bad.  Probably just as bad as the new one.

Don Ho

finally saw the avengers over the holiday...few months ago i watched all of the lead in movies so i could see it at the theater and i guess i just forgot. anyway, i thought it was pretty fun. started out a little slow but picked up pretty quickly. i liked it.

totally unrealistic though.

Rome

ice grillin you

martha marcy mae marlene - finally saw this and it was amazing...about a girl who escapes a cult and her attempt to assimilate back into the real world...its really cool how the story if told in free form cutting btwn present day and the years she spent in the cult...its done so well that sometimes its a little confusing at first as to where she is...which is the point...because she so messed up that she herself doesnt know where she is at times...elizabeth olsen is so good in the lead...if michelle williams and maggie gylenhall had a daughter it would be her...john hawkes is awesome as the cult leader too...if there was one criticism it would have to be that they never flash back to to when or why she joined the cult in the first place...its also one of those films that doesnt end but stops....this pisses a lot of people off but i love it

9.5/10

just got back from killing them softly....an excellent tarantino influenced film noir about seedy crime underworld ...very talky and character driven...one outstanding performance after another....movie is crisp and to the point....an hour and a half felt like 20 minutes....highly recommend

Seabiscuit36

RedTails was on HBO... 1.5/10

Probably one of the most pointless movies made.  Great cinematography, but it had zero plot.  The original Tuskegee Airman was a million times better.

looper - pretty badass sci-fi flick. lots of killing and time travel.

friends with benefits - same story has been done 1 thousand times but this was not bad only because i'd like to bang both mila kunis and justin timberlake.

I thought it was one of the best movies made from a comic I've seen. The Hulk was better in The Avengers than he was in any other movie.

this might be the best year for movies since the 90's....it may not end up having a top 25 all time movie or anything but its gonna have the deeepest bench in a long long time

Alter Egos has a unique take on super heroes, but the movie was mostly dumb.

I finally caught it on HBO last week as well.  Agree 100%.  From the trailers I saw the previews and thought "wow, this looks terrible" and the only way I would see it is drunk, in a hotel room, with nothing else on.  That happened.

Find it hilarious how the actors were promoting it as if its a work of art and the most important film you'll see in a long time.

I'm not from Philly but some say I'm blunt.
