Anyone seen a good movie lately?

Finally saw The Avengers.  Can someone please explain to me how a group that is so technologically advanced they have a freaking flying, invisible aircraft carrier can let a single aircraft 1/100th of the size sneak up on them and almost take them out?

Even if we go with the "it was one of theirs" theory, wouldn't then notice that "Hey, where did that one come from and why is it hovering so close by".  Its not like they don't take inventory of where their aircraft is.

Otherwise, pretty good, not great.

your picture was not only not a movie poster but the pic in general was not nearly as good

I'm looking forward to seeing this, but am convinced I will find it disappointing.

disappointing cause expectations are so high but i fail to see how it wont be at least very good

that said im looking forward to the master more

More disappointing because I'll mentally pick apart every historical inaccuracy that I see.

you both have to keep in mind its also been roughly 10 years still spielberg has done a good movie where he wasnt blatantly trying to win a statue.

actually maybe 15. so lower those expectations cause theres a decent chance shes gonna blow.

munich was a very good movie and hardly pandering to the oscar crowd....i expect lincoln to be in this mold

Yeah Bana was colossally bad in Munich, but so much of that movie blew. Over the top scenes of him boning his wife in sweaty slow motion. The final shot of the twin towers. Spielberg has turned into such a hack it's embarrassing. Without looking I think that the last movie he did that I liked was Catch Me If You Can and that wasn't exactly the greatest movie ever made, just solid and enjoyable with numerous eye-candy actresses.

Josh farging Hartnett was good in Blackhawk Down. Any man with a stern face and a pulse would have been brilliant in that movie. Also, he was in Hanna for like 10 minutes. He was good, but come on.

And Munich was farging garbage. Lowest common denominator, pseudo philosophical, self indulgent tripe.

i used to love it but i watched it about 6 months ago on bet and it has not aged very well...the omar epps tupac rumble at the end is mad corny...2 fargin scrawny wimps....tupac bitching "dont let me fall Q boo hoo"....lol

Catch Me if You Can is one of those movies that is simply easy and fun to watch. Probably because Leo DiCaprio is so dreamy.

Agree that Munich blew.  I don't get the love for that movie at all.  Looking at Bana's IMDB page, it is kind of surprising how many bad movies he was in since I always kind of had it in my mind he was a decent actor.  He was pretty good in Hanna.
