Pretty much agree with what you guys have said about Hangover II.  It almost felt like a remake of the first one.  Still funny, but not as many laughs.  Seems like any sequel where the core group leaves the US for a country on the other side of the world is never as good...

I saw Super 8, and I thought it was okay. Definitely not a classic. And while I understand that it was the intent to some degree, I thought the film was overly derivative. Basically, it's a cross between Stand By Me and E.T.  Didn't love it or hate it, but I don't have an overwhelming need to ever see it again.

So it's 4 friends on a journey to see a dead alien?

The Lost finale pretty much cured me of needing to see anything Abrams makes.
That being said, I'll probably netflix Super 8.  But it ain't worth 10 bucks.

ice grillin you

just got back from super 8 and pretty much agree with what zanshin said...it was well done but nothing special...it was very good until you finally see the alien and then it goes over the top and turns into an average typical sci fi movie

5/10

Agreed with igy and zanshin almost 100%.

Abrams had nothing to do with Lost after season 1.

The Star Trek reboot was excellent.

I agree.  But I'm a trek nerd too.

Watched SALT yesterday.

Didn't know what to expect, actually watched it not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised.

Cool story, spy-thriller, action scenes were what they were, but overall story keeps you in it, twists all over the place, suspenseful, it was really fun. Would actually like to see a sequel ala Jason Bourne.

8 of 10. Good watch.

Just got back from Super 8, thought it was pretty meh.

Super 8 also sounds like a motel chain.

I am now convinced that Super 8 is no better than okay and possibly as bad as meh, which is about what I expected and why I haven't spent money to be semi-entertained for a little while.  I will now avoid the movie unless it is on for free and I'm somehow trapped in front of it.

saw Cedar Rapids the other day...John C Reilly was pretty hilarious but overall not a very good movie.
