casino is worth seeing for stones all time over the top performance...its comedy gold....much in the same way denzel is in training day

other than that it has no redeeming qualities

gI and II are obviously way better but I and II are both overrrated and III is underrrated....theres no way you shouldnt watch III

just go in knowing its not nearly as good and youll enjoy it...its actually good you are seeing it now because the worst movie experience ever was seeing III on opening night...expectations were off the charts...but now when you can put it in perspective its not bad at all
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

The Godfather - first time I have watched it in its entirety. Truly a masterpiece although a little overrated. I'd rank Goodfellas ahead of it as far as Italian Mafia movies go. Gonna give 2 a go in the next few days.

Funny, I just saw this in its entirety the other day for the first time (at least in one sitting). It was trailblazing at the time, but parts of the story felt very forced to me. It was very good, but it's certainly been exalted since then. The best part about it was watching Pacino act like something other than a caricature of Pacino, which is a rare sight. Talia Shire, though, did her usual break the dishes and yell routine. Perfect practice for Rocky.

I watched "She's Out of My League" last night and can't decide if Krysten Ritter or Alice Eve is hotter.

All this talk about gf I and II being overrated is farging ridiculous.

It's really not. And it's not the fault of the movie, either. The problem is that it's reached a level of hype and reverence over the years that's impossible to keep pace with reality.

So we've finally discovered something that isn't top ten or bottom ten?

I feel like I don't even know you any more.

i dont even have them in my top 25 but i can see why some do....but they just have been elevated to ridiculous levels

they are to long to be that great and the part in the first one where he goes back to italy is just horrible

Sadly, IGY is right. It's the first one.

rjs246

Yeah, I realized that as I was hitting 'Post'. I had just assumed that he was talking about the Vito story-line in II.

Understood. But don't make me feel that dirty again.

These posts are a pretty good summary of my feelings as well. I wouldn't rank GF as one of my favorite movies but it is a masterpiece of cinema.
