99% of the time Marines are passengers on ships. They're absolutely useless even on ships that were made for them. In Sarges case I have no idea why he was on a state of the art Destroyer. I spent 3 years on a DDG and never saw a marine onboard.

You could use them when I was in, but from my understanding it's because you can transmit uncontrolled information and those sites are prone to viruses. They banned Facebook/Myspace etc. and I don't blame them.

I wouldn't call people enlisting volunteering anymore than I would the average Joe who goes to work. It's more like an incentive laden career more so now than it was a zesty way to kill 4 years with shtein pay.

It's in your contract you can't form a union. Old saying goes "We protect the Constitution that doesn't protect us" applies here.

Nah, it's some big military training excersize that happens every year with about a dozen nations from north and south america.  Last year the US hosted and it was in Florida, this year Peru is the host nation.  Our squadron is mostly providing casualty evac along with the occasional troop movement.

ha!  We get off the boat for good on the 20th and the hotel we're staying in for about a week is the same hotel he murderdeathkilled that chick.  I hope I get his room.

If this is a destroyer, then the Navy is farged because this boat doesn't have ish for weaponry.  A few .50cals randomly mounted around boat, some 30mm cannons, anti-aircraft missiles and that's about it.  Nothing too big or long range at all.  It's an LPD class boat. 

But yeah, as far as day to day life on the boat, we are pretty useless in terms of daily Naval ops that go down.  We make the line longer on the mess deck, break the toilets and make a mess in the smoke pit. 

Oh, and we farg all the women on the boat too.....which is why squids are ghey for each other.

The Navy/Marine Corps have recently unblocked social networking sites, so I can get on my Facebook all day.  They allowed that because so many people use it now and it makes it easy for Marines and squids to keep in touch with family...not to mention, this boat has it's own Facebook page that they update several times a day for family members back in the states.  I really have no clue why I can't access my gmail or yahoo though.  I can check both from my office back in the states, but for whatever reason, the boat has them blocked.

I saw Hot Tub Time Machine too and just thought it was mediocre at best. One maybe two laughs.

Cusack is an awful comedic actor. He's not a great actor in general, but he is awful in comedies. There is nothing about him funny whatsoever.

Also that one bald actor hasn't been in anything good since he was the sex offender in Curb.

I thought Hot Tub Time Machine was decent.  It wasn't hilarious, but it made me laugh. 

Transformers 2, on the other hand, is one of the worst movies I've seen in quite some time.  I was in no rush to see it after watching the first one, but they played it on the ship's tv today.  Farg you, Michael Bay.
