its a fine movie thats way overhyped because of what it did to people when it first came out...same with psycho....but neither are able to stand the test of time

First of all Exorcist is a classic. It's scary but more importantly its suspenseful and plays on very basic fears. The special effects are laugh out loud bad now, but the movie is still amazing.

Second of all, Rosemary's Baby is just as good if not better than Exorcist. Both are among my all time favorites.

Third, there is nothing better than a good horror movie precisely because there are so few of them. There is no other genre that has so many cover-your-eyes, point-and-laugh-out-loud bad movies as the horror genre, so when someone comes along and does it right it's like a little slice of heaven.

Fourth, the fact that IGY and I are both excited about a Sam Raimi movie has got to be a sign of the apocalypse.

agree. that was the other one aside from Saw 1 that I actually enjoyed.

28 Days Later was the last great suspense movie I saw.  Wouldn't really call it horror, though.

Raimi hasn't made a great movie since A Simple Plan.

Just watched Defiance.  Good movie, Craig did his part.  Loved seeing Mosins, definitely worth the watch.
