Rome

AI was awful and Minority Report was stupid.  Catch Me If You Can wasn't terrible.

I liked Minority Report and was sort of luke warm on Catch Me If You Can.

AI, on the other hand, was basically unwatchable. Could not get into that movie at all and never even finished it.

The kid in it needed to have his eyes gouged out.

And I hate Tom Cruise worse than I hate the Dallas Cowboys so basically any movie he's in gets the stink palm.

Right there with you.  Wasn't AI basically a futuristic version of Pinnoccio?  I had a hard time following (staying awake during) the movie but that's the impression I was left with.

As a person, he's managed to achieve the highest levels of douche baggery.  But as an actor, the dude usually makes excellent movies and he's a pretty good actor overall.  He's kind of like Michael Jackson....no one cared about how weird Michael was until he stopped making hit songs.   And as long as Tom Cruise keeps making good movies, then most people won't really care about how much of a nut he's turned into.

I watched The Bridge To Terabithia with my kid this afternoon.  I was expecting it to be awful but it wasn't half bad.  3/5
Same here. Rented it a few months back when my friend's kid was here and ended up liking it a helluva lot more than I was expecting it to.

Recent viewings include Into The Wild (another one that I ended up liking more than I thought I would. Wasn't even close to boring, which I thought it would be), American Gangster (which was phenomenal) and Mad Money (sigh... which sucked balls).
Maybe the voices aren't real, but, they've got some pretty good ideas...

Rome

The girl in "Bridge" definitely has Natalie Portman written all over her in terms of future hotness, but otherwise, kinda mediocre and tiresome in terms of story development, acting, and payoff.

For about the 1000th time I am watching Aliens and sporting wood all over the place. Can anyone name a better action movie? I'm talking any action movie, ever made, ever. I can't think of a single one that is clearly better and only a few are even close.

ha i was watching that last night too at a buddies place and the 3 other people there never saw the movie...first shocking moment and then they proceeded to make fun of it...i was like i watched this freakin movie when i was like 10 and it was the coolest thing(next to predator) that i ever watched to that point. its a classic! how you bash aliens is beyond me...

Predator is damn good. And is definitely one of the few that come close to Aliens, but Arnold movies always get knocked down half a peg. Always. As a big fan of Conan and the Terminators and Predator I still feel comfortable saying that he is a travesty.

not that you mention terminator...they are making a new trilogy (parts 4-6) on the actual war. christian bale is john connor.

the bad news? the guy who used to direct music videos and did the charlies angels movies is the director. even worse news? the guys who did the catwoman script are writing this one.

I'm watching one of my all-time favorite movies right now.  Moon Over Parador.  It's actually awful in every respect, but I still like it.  Dreyfuss was at the end of his line as a lead here and so was Paul Mazursky as a director, yet it's still immensely enjoyable.

Sonja Braga might be the hottest slut ever.

4/5 even though Mazursky dons the drag as Dreyfuss' mother.

Just finished watching Marky Mark as a sniper in Shooter. I am amazed by how much i enjoyed it. There were some holes clearly, but it was a very fun action/revenge/farg-the-government movie.

Harrison Ford hasn't made a good movie in 10 years.  The last one I can remember watching that wasn't total crap was Air Force One.  And you're right about Lucas farging up Star Wars, although I liked Revenge of the Sith.  And aside from Munich, Spielberg hasn't directed a decent movie since Saving Private Ryan.

It's not surprising that they made a zesty movie here, and the sad fact is they didn't need to.  None of them need the money and The Last Crusade was absolutely perfect in every way.

Just goes to show you how farged up Hollywood is in terms of ego, greed & self-indulgence.

catch me if you can, minority report, and AI are all terrific films IMO.

watched the indy movie last night and i thought it fell right along with the others in terms of plot and action. all the plots in the indy movies have been far fetched and dealing with the supernatural. this one was no different. the action is obviously there even if some of it was CGI.

for a movie with 20 yrs of hype and a bunch of angry nerds who wouldnt like it anyway i thought it was a fun action movie. or maybe its because i was never that into the original indy movies so i didnt have the "omg they raped my childhood" moment.
**Some spoilers**
I can buy the Ark of the Covenant emitting radiation and melting Nazi's faces off...magic stones that glow when they're near each other...the Holy Grail healing a bullet wound?...pass the kool-aid. When Aliens and spaceships are involved that crosses the line from supernatural to Sci-fi. The action scenes were horrific, the first 15-20 minutes were okay, I thought to myself this is sort of ridiculous but I'll buy it as long as it gets better...but it just got worse. The atomic bomb scene was where it started pushing the envelope for me. The monkey swinging scene, giant ants, sword fight between two cars riding through the jungle, stupid monkey guys that have no relevance but shoot poison darts, all bordered on retarded. The jokes were so forced and corny that I found myself feeling sorry for them. There was no character development. Marian's character was brutal as was Oxley and the triple agent dooche. The plot was just horrific. At some point I was waiting for Lucas and Spielberg to appear on the screen and say okay this movie was just a bad joke, here's the real one. I have no idea how anyone could watch that pile of crap and say it was anywhere close to the originals. Next to 'The Hulk' Crystal Skulls was the worst movie I ever saw in the theaters.

Never saw AI or Minority Report but I loved Catch Me If You Can.
