"Walk Hard" was fairly amusing, especially having seen "Walk the Line".  However, there were still only a small handful of actual laughs throughout the movie, and they had to cock it up by giving Jonah Hill a completely unfunny cameo.

Oh, and WTF is up with man junk on screen?  It was the theatrical version, too.  I shudder to think that the extended version probably has at least three times the man junk.  Boo.

Still, it's worth a 3/5 overall.

Was any of the junk in Jenna Fischer's mouth/rectum? If yes, stop your complaining immediately.

Watched American Gangster last night. I thought it was well-directed and well acted and rather poorly written/adapted. It kept my interest though, plus titties galore.

3/5

Pretty much what I thought of it too.  The plot seemed extremely vanilla for a gangster movie but the acting and boobage were both superb.

Shooter:  Overall I thought is was a really good movie but there was just something missing or not quite right about it but I just can't put my finger on what it was.  Still, very enjoyable and I thought they did a great job of getting into just how detailed the art of "sniping" really is.  There's a lot more to it besides aim and shoot as most movies typically show.

3.5/5

Also watched a couple classic comedies over the weekend.

Spaceballs and My Cousin Vinny.  Both = infinity/5.

No, hence the complaining.

The thing that drove me nuts about it was that the side-plots added absolutely nothing to the movie. His divorce from his wife adds nothing. Cuba Gooding Jr.'s character contributed nothing and I don't even understand why he was in the movie.

Josh Brolin's part was basically a throw-away as well because nothing really comes of it. He's just one of hundreds of crooked cops on the take and to focus on him without providing any sort of climax to his part of the story was just poor writing.

The movie could have been about 45 minutes shorter and had the same impact in a much more effective manner.

Day of the Dead - 4/5 - Horrendous everything, but still any zombie flick is right up my alley.  :yay :yay

30 Days of Night - 2/5 - felted rushed, had no intro or background into the evil vampire like people. just a lot of holes in it. i felt it had tons of potential with how badass the evil people were...the setting was super creepy...isolated from the world....all darkness for 30 days. just poorly executed.

Kind of like the Eagles offense.

The true story of Frank, and Nicky Barnes is much more interesting than the movie.  The movie was good, but they really skipped out on what could have been an amazing movie.

"Juno"

Great overall movie.  Interesting characters, simple plot, happy ending.  Frankly, I'm surprised it was widely recognized and appreciated, because it was actually really good.  I can't imagine anyone (well, except probably IGY) would dislike the movie.

4/5.

just got back from juno and we have a new leader in the clubhouse for movie of the year...what a great farging movie...knocked up for grown ups (a million times better overall)...what made it so great was that it easily could have morphed into a too smart for its own good melodrama cookie cutter type movie...but instead it ended up being a super intelligent heartfelt serious comedy...i actually welled up at the end...

ellen page was scary good and should win the oscar...same for diablo codys screenplay which made every single character in the movie multi demensional and so interesting...2007 keeps elevating itself to the point that it might be the best year for american movies since sometime in the early 90's

10/10

That movie was pretty retarded, though I thought the part with Elvis was hilarious.

I just assume that you don't like anything good and then get surprised when you do.  It's easier that way.

I can see why the Academy would go with "No Country" and demote this to a couple of token nominations and the screenplay award, but it was ultimately a much better movie.

Basically, "No Country" had one good character and one great performance.  It was a decent movie.  But it was not nearly as interesting and engaging as "Juno".

Plus, while that French lady's performance in "La Vie En Rose" was supposedly phenomenal, getting caked up with makeup and singing isn't as hard as being interesting without that shtein.  Ellen Page was robbed.

No.  It was the loser from the White Stripes.  They suck.
