Anyone seen a good movie lately?

Armageddon is coming, and we deserve it.

Whether Meet the Spartans contributes to this or not is up for debate, but otherwise I agree.

Rutger Hauer is the baddest motherfarger ever.  He was scarier than hell in the original Hitcher.

5/5 for that movie.

Never saw the remake.  No reason to, really.

Ha!  It's more along the lines that "Meet The Spartans" shouldn't have had any audience, because it supposedly does make fun of a lot of popular movies, but does a really zesty job of it.  So, no one leaves laughing, similarly to movies from the same guys "Epic Movie" and "Date Movie".

It's a 'comedy' that caters to the lowest common denominator. Date Movie, Epic Movie, all of that shtein does nothing original it just regurgitates idiotic 7th grade humor. Gay jokes, Brittany-Spears-is-crazy jokes, it has absolutely no entertainment value whatsoever and it assumes that its audience can't generate an original thought and finds retarded grade schoolers entertaining.

You're ridiculous to try and take a jab at 'nerds' for saying this movie is awful. It's so obviously awful in its very concpet that to discuss it makes you look like a fool.

No one, anywhere, ever would mistake Meet the Spartans for a movie that falls into that category.

I seriously doubt that it was the same crowd who went to see this movie, but who knows. Maybe people that like mindless violence and comic books also like sub-doorknob intelligence spoof humor revolving around gay jokes. I doubt it, but it's possible.

Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinking Your Juice In The Hood


The thing that made those movies so funny is that they mostly stuck to a particular genre to make fun of.  

But rjs is on point though.  The humor in them is elementary at best and they don't require in depth thought to put together.  They are what they are and can sometimes be funny and entertaining.  But for them to immediately reach #1 at the box office when there are so many other choices for movies out there shows just how idiotic people are and how easily they can be entertained.  Scary Movie was the only parody I've ever gone to see (which was worth the price of admission).  The rest I've waited until they come out on video.  

Even with the parodies than Rome and I listed, I'm not sure if any of them ever reached #1 at the box office.

Parodies can be smart. They usually aren't, but when they are they can be classics. Meet the Spartans decided to parody a mediocre movie and then throw in a bunch of worn out pop culture jokes. They couldn't even make the trailer look intriguing. Just awful.
