when black movies and/or black movie stars become more accepted by whites is when there will be more color in hollywood....period

You're overstating the problem as usual.  You really think black people enjoy crappy "white" movies any more than vice versa?  Hint:  You're wrong.

And movies starring black actors/actresses that don't revolve around slapsticky, ignorant humor aren't considered 'Black Movies'.

huh?

for every one of those movies you talk about i can name 50 dude wheres my cars van wilders or a clerks sequel...hate to break it to yous but white movies suck too

I wasn't saying that 'Black Movies' have the market cornered on terrible movies. I'm saying that the term 'Black Movies' only refers to the Big Momma's Houses and White Chicks of the world. No one, black, white or green, refers to The Persuit of Happiness or Glory as 'Black Movies'.

Why is that?

what are you talking about

the best black movie ever made will attract a limited number of white people...where as a great white movie will become a blockbuster because EVERYONE will see it

glory most definitely was a black movie...ive never heard of anyone not think it was...but that is kind of my point..glory was a great movie and was critically acclaimed as it should have been...but take the equivalent movie...say a braveheart or even crap like the patriot and it will lap glory in box office take five times over

pursuit of happyness was not a black movie...it just had the central character as a black guy....much like save the last dance was a black movie centered around a white lead

SunMo

however...the comparisons are not applicable

The Patriot and Braveheart both starred one of the most popular movie stars of alltime Mel Gibson

Glory had a great cast, but one that had not reached its full star power as of yet, except for maybe Broderick

The Patriot was one of the worst pile of shtein movies I've ever seen.
