IGY- You're the first person I've seen that was in the middle about Borat. Everyone I've talked to, or have seen "talk" about it on the 'net, has either loved it or hate it.

I haven't seen it yet, but, from the bits and pieces I've heard of it, I have a feeling I will be in the middle as well.
Maybe the voices aren't real, but, they've got some pretty good ideas...

All anyone needs to know about the Oscars is that Hitchcock never won.

Neither has Scorsese.

Some useless trivia about that....

"Rebecca" won for best picture. (However it's the producer that gets those credits)
Spellbound was nominated for best picture

He was nominated a bunch of times for director. And the movies that beat them out were pretty damn good.

1940 - Nominated for Rebecca...Grapes of Wrath won
1944 - Nominated for Lifeboat...Going my Way won
1945 - Nominated for Spellbound...The Lost Weekend won
1954 - Nominated for Rear Window...One the Waterfront won
1960 - Nominated for Psycho...The Apartment won

That's going to change this year, even if "The Departed" does not win for Best Picture.

thats cause you have the trendy hipsters and the fraternity kids who have to like borat no matter what cause its the in thing to say hes the funniest guy ever...these people will drunkenly and annoyingly recite lines in public from the movie...the kind of people who are yelling the lines to the firends they are with but in reality are talkign to everyone...saying look at me

on the other side are the haters...that wanna rebel and go the other way and act like borat is not funny at all...these people dare to be different

the common thread both sets of people have is that they rate the movie on something other than what they really think about it

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Just got back from Pan's Labrynth.

It was awesome.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Pan's Lab. was great, but I wish they focused more on the fantasy part... the eye hands guy was nice.. a lot of religious undertones throughout the movie...

The Illusionist was also very good, but predictable

I watched "The River King" last night.  Interesting movie.  Not great by any means but a decent way to spend a couple of hours.

3/5.

I burned Miami Vice and Beerfest.  Watched the first 10 minutes of Beerfest, Gotta love gratuituous boobage

I usually don't give a crap about the Oscars because it's always movies that I've never seen, but I didn't realize Kelly freakin Leak from Bad News Bears was up for Best Supporting Actor this year for "Little Children"....  :-D
