Anyone seen a good movie lately?

Actually, they've already announced this would be the end of the X-man movies.  They plan on spinning off characters now, most notably Wolverine.

There was no way to keep bringing back Stewart and McKellen.  They were done at three.

I read a lot and am almost always disappointed when I see a movie based on a book I've read. None of the three movies disappointed, which was impressive enough in itself, but more impressive was the fact that all three of them are over 3 hours long and I never got bored. In fact the extended versions might even be better than the theatrical releases.

But I'm a movie nerd so you can all eat it.

i remember reading the 1st book in school.  i just never got into that fantasy kinda stuff.  but i'm always more than willing to beat up nerds who are into it, so that's cool.

i never read the LOTR books...and never plan to. but the movies were interesting, even if it took a while to follow. i thought the 2nd movie was kinda a waste of time.

i bought all three at a used DVD place a few months ago for about $25 total...i plan to watch them again sometime.

Fantasy books suck. Fantasy movies suck (with the possible exception of Conan the Barbarian which utterly rules). The LOTR movies are in a class by themselves when it comes to that genre. Nothing even begins to compare.

I haven't watched it yet, but as soon as the pull a hair out and I know I passed I'm going to watch Gingerdead. From the preview, it looks like it may rival Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter as the worst movie ever!

lord of the rings one was the only movie ive ever walked out of in my life....it was about the 1:05 mark of the movie when i asked the person i was with what time it was...thinking it had at most another half hour to go...

Hate all you want. They were award winning movies that appealed to tens of millions of people. Sorry that there wasn't enough black humor in it. Those Kiwi's don't really know how to relate to today's urban youth.

IGY hates himself because he bought the special extended version DVD of Little Black Book last weekend.  it's actually not a bad purchase, becasue there is an alternate ending where Brittany Murphy gets cervical cancer and kills herself.  it's hilarious.
