but wasn't there anyone with a 1/4 of a brain that knew it was going to suck from the previous?  i mean, c'mon a killer fog?

Land of the Dead was terrible.  A couple good gore scenes which was appreciated since it was boring as farg.

the first two incarnations of the Fog were pretty good. the 1923 version for nothing more than a good old movie. and then the 1980 john carpenter version, was more than half decent too.

That's good to hear, or read I guess, as I just bought it today even though I've never seen it or read any reviews. It is; however, the Director's Selection from Columbia House.

As you can tell from the stupid sign I just bought (BUDWEISER IS THE KING O' BEERS), my trip to Philly for the Raiders game, and now this purchase, I like to waste money as much as possible. I guess I better go to a bar later to drink myself happy. That should work.

I saw The Man Who Wasn't There and Laurel Canyon this weekend.

TMWWT (Coen brothers) was really good. A solid nod to film noir that was extremely well cast (one of the Coens' fortes). Billi Bob Thorton was excellent, as were Frances McDormand, James Gandolfini and Scarlett Johansson.

Laurel Canyon was also very good. I'm a big Frances McDormand fan, but have never found her the slightest bit sexy. She was sexy and her usual outstanding self in this role. Kate Beckinsale was extremely hot and Christian Bale was good. The ending was very ambiguous and open ended, which I thought was perfect because it didn't bother tying anything up. It felt more real.

Anyway, both good flicks. Both recommended.

i watched Batman Begins over the weekend. i thought it was excellent. other than the 1st movie with jack nicholson, i pretty much thought the rest of the franchise was stupid. but Bale was good as wayne/batman.

also watched I, Robot compliments of tivo thinking i would like it. i was surprised because it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be.
