"Good Night, and Good Luck"

I think this was an excellent movie.  However, it's really just a quick recap of the feud between Edward R. Morrow and Sen. McCarthy over the communism witch hunt.  If you know the history of it, nothing really new is offered.  Straithairn is excellent as Morrow, but I can see why the movie didn't really win any Oscars.  Only about 86 minutes long and no real insight.  It's basically a documentary, but made 50 years after the fact.

There was a circle jerk a few pages back about Being John Malkovich so I decided to rent it. Was humorous in its own right but disappointed me a little at the end. Guess I was just expecting more.  :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead

Exorcism of Emily Rose  :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead 1/2 Much better than what I was expecting.

Jarhead - had its moments. diff. than your average war movie.  so i'll give it credit for not over glorifying and being realistic.  other than that, i was expecting more action and wanted to see action. so with that being said i'll give it a 2.5. not great, not zesty. just ok.  hooorah! :fire

Finally watched Brokeback Mountain last night and I see what all the buzz what about.  It was actually really really good.  And I'm not one for love stories at all, much less dude love.  But it was pretty powerful without ever getting corny like most love stories.  Was a little slow for a little bit in the middle, but not even close to being as boring as I went in thinking.  Ledger and Gyllanhal both did an excellent job.  I doubt it will bring many hetero dudes to tears like it did to all the girls I know, but it was very good.  4/5

That being said, I still think Crash deserved to win best picture.  I enjoyed Crash a little more.
