Anyone seen a good movie lately?

the best thing i can say is there are like 350 million people in this country and maybe 3 or 4 watch cable news on a consistent basis

I think the larger and more argued point from the left is that this guy gained hero worship cause he was adept at picking off and murdering brown people...not because he was any better or worse than any other soldier

the movie itself never really made him out to be some kind of saint

it was a story about a guy who was really good at sniping things sure. but he never gave a shtein about that. he only cared about his fellow soldiers. that's how he kept going back. he wanted to save them and keep his people alive. a role of his in that was killing brown people.

he never glorified it. the right wing media and gun worshiping military nuts did.

This exactly.

The right shouts down anyone who brings up inconvenient truths about him and those like him. Fact is he was a mass murderer. He was killing in the name of his masters just like any assassin. But he wore an American flag on his uniform, so it's all good.

Neanderthal thinking and it's no different than the ISIS iceholes killing in the name of Allah.

Bottom line for me is we're either going to stop slaughtering people or this planet is farging doomed.

I haven't seen the movie and won't but I'm sure Clint glorified him

clint's direction is too bland to glorify anything

he uses rehearsal takes and goes from point A to point B quicker than it takes munson to burn through a carton of smokes. the movie is just a story about a dude.

i just recently saw it and didn't even know people were slamming it other than the fake baby. seems like one the the less glorious war movies in a while I thought.

they definitely make him out to be a troubled dude with head problems but i'm sure he was much more of an icehole in real life than the movie portrays. that's not coming from me as a democrat but as a person who knows it's a farging movie.

I haven't seen the movie but I think there are much better issues for the left to complain about the DOD/CIA. Torture at GB, drones dropping bombs that harm both civilians and terrorists and other issues. If the movie isn't promoting war, it is merely portraying the man's reason for volunteering. We do happen to be in a war in the Middle East. Who do you want them to show him killing?

Does the right grip the flag too much and pretend that they are the patriotic party? Yes. But to complain about this guy gives the impression that the left does not support the troops. So are all soldiers assassins or only snipers? How do you stop an enemy that is setting people on fire and beheading people?

Gotta love how beheading a few people is the worst thing ever but the U.S. army steam rolling an entire county and killing tens or hundreds of thousands of innocent people is still being defended by a large portion of our country

Beheadings, mass raping, setting people on fire, flying planes into skyscrapers....but let's just watch sports and movies and pretend that these things aren't happening.
