Anyone seen a good movie lately?

I saw "The Ringer." The movie was ok. One part was really funny. Everything else about the movie theatre was better though. Some kid trying to impress a girl got thrown out by his mom, and after the movie there was a badass fight outside the theatre with about 40 people.

I had the (dis)pleasure of watching the Dukes of Hazzard over the weekend.  It was even worse than I imagined.  I know they've got to make the characters a little more "up to date" to intrigue younger movie goers, but that movie was an absolute bomb.  The characters were portrayed nothing like in the original show and the movie was laced with stupid adolescent humor.  Now I know it may seem a bit ironic that I would be the one to bitch about stupid adolescent humor, but it just made the movie even worse.  I didn't even watch half of it before I turned it off.  :boo

I can't watch any film with Seann William Scott in it now, he is a victim of his own success. He is, and always will be, Stifler.

Serenity:cfhead  I seem to be the only person who thought this movie was boring.  I could have kicked Rivers ass blindfolded.   Star Wars, Star Trek, Hitch hikers guide to Galaxy, Serenity... nerds go crazy when cinema reaches past earths atmosphere.
The Constant Gardener :cfhead :cfhead 1/2 -  decent acting, too long and slow at times.
Into the Blue-   :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead Alba, bathing suit.  thats all.
Princess Mononoke:cfhead :cfhead 1/2  Decent Anime, overrated a bit IMO.

If you'd only seen the original a few times and didn't care about it, you'd find it funny.

Really, they should have just done a similar movie and not even tried to follow the Dukes of Hazzard.  I think it would have been received much better if that were the case.

Saw The Constant Gardener and The Island this weekend.

I got drunk and broke both movies down pretty well to some friends last night, but I am not going to bore you all with the details right now.

Constant Gardener: Very good. Well acted, well written. Slow at times, but a very good movie. I'll give it 4/5. Would be higher, but it isn't a 'sexy' movie and I probably won't get the urge to watch it again.

The Island: The potential for this movie to be excellent is high and it managed to fall extremely short on that potential. It couldn't decide whether to be a pure action/adventure movie or a 1984-esque story warning about where our society is heading. Because it couldn't decide which it wanted to be, it sucked at both. The chase scene was really intense and pretty awesome and Scarlett is smokin hot, but the dialogue was awful and it wasn't really the kind of movie that lets you just turn off the brain and watch things explode. I'll give it a generous 2/5.

Plan on watching House of 1000 Corpses tonight...

No matter how well-acted or seamless the movie is, I just can't build up that kind of desire to see a movie that revolves around man-love.  Good luck to you, though.  Be sure to tell us how much you like the ass sex scenes.

Yep, and the ladyfriend has already seen it with her friends so I'm in the clear.
