Me too, Loved it.

And Heathcliffe too.

Susquehanna Birder

Caught The Last Airbender today. The martial arts were decent, and the special effects were nice. Still, it was kind of a lame story. And I didn't realize going in that it was the first part of a series.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  Very well done.  Hitchcockian in its complexity, with a lot more (brutal) sex.

Definitely going to have to read the book now (vacation's coming up).

speaking of Hitchcock...The Birds was on the other night, obviously a movie that hasn't aged well.  I'm sure at the time, it was terrifying but now it's just full of awful acting, overdrawn dialogue and terrible special effects.

On the Waterfront - decent movie, Brando was great and the woman was very good too.  Overall the movie had some major plot holes, but for it's time it was pretty well done.

Shutter Island - i really liked it, even though i figured out the twist about 10 minutes in...just like everybody else.  DiCaprio, Ruffalo, and Kingsley were all great.  The one thing I wasn't sure about is *SPOILER ALERT*

Did he knowingly put himself up for the lobotomy at the end because he wanted to escape from the memories he had of what happened?  It sounded that way to me with the last thing he said to Mark Ruffalo about dying as a good man or living as a monster.

I saw about 45 minutes of Paranormal Activity yesterday and it freaked me the farg out. I don't know what my deal is. Scary movies based in reality are completely enjoyable to me but rarely if ever leave a lasting impression of fear. But demonic possession, well that sticks with me and I have no idea why. The Exorcist is still one of the scariest goddamned things I've ever seen. The Exorcism of Emily Rose totally freaked me out too. Maybe something about not being able to explain it rationally fargs with my head but whatever it is it completely terrifies me.

Then I watched the last hour of the Last House on the Left remake. I wasn't wild about it, but the revenge aspect was certainly right up my alley and the exploding head was pretty awesomely hilarious.

the first hour is pretty good, if only for it's brutality in the attacks on both girls.  overall it's a pretty enjoyable movie.

When they watch the tape from the night before and she's standing over his bed, I'd of been out of there as the bf.

I sleep walk so I've been known to be the one hovering over the bed. Pretty sure the demon tracks through the flour would have been it for me. Sorry lady. Best of luck.

I'm with you, SD.  That would have been enough for me too.

MURP

they are making a part 2 of that.

By far the freakiest part in that flick was when she was being dragged away.

Let's hope they make it more evil.

Yeah, I'm the same way. When that chick was standing watch over the bed, like SD said, I would have rolled the farg out.

Exorcist gives me chills to this day.

Blair Witch had the same effect on me. Especially the closing clip with the person standing in the corner...

My Blair Witch story...I was living in LA at the time and scored tickets to see it as a test audience. But the way they presented it for the testers was exactly as they explained it on the movie. So we thought we were watching real footage.

We had no warning of it like most of everyone else who ended up seeing it months later...who knew that it was fake, how it ended, etc.

I literally threw up at the end shot. As did about 20 other people. I could not sleep for 2 days.

Rome

Inception looks like it might be incredible.  Or DiCaprio might ruin it like he does every other movie he appears in.

Whatever.
