whats the deal with netflix and instant watch movies....someone was telling me with a membership you can now watch movies off the site...do you have to have some special software or pay extra for them...or do you just hit a link and watch the movie on your computer at home

just hit a link and watch the movie on your computer at home.

It prompts you to install something if you don't already have it. It's easy and pretty friggin awesome.

of course it's only available for most movies you don't want to watch anyway.

i think its pretty mediocre. but are you really that desperate to a watch 2+ hour movie on your computer?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

im not desperate to have netflix at all....just sounds like a pretty cool idea...of course not so much if as sun says the selection blows

it's not great...definitely no new movies

there were some Eastwood westerns on there for awhile, but they are gone now.

can you get the minimum membership i thinks like 5.95 a month and still have the instant watch access or do you have to get certain level membership to qualify for it

The instant watch is infinitely cooler with the Roku box, something I acquired as a Christmas present.

The selection is great as far as I'm concerned. Who wants to watch new releases on their computer monitor? I use it to catch up on classics that I haven't seen for some reason and don't particularly care whether I abandon midway through.

For example, I just watched Unforgiven instantly this week. I had never seen it all the way through. (It was phenomenal, by the way.)

Also saw Soylent Green that way. Neither movie required my flat screen and I was able to watch both on a whim.

It's ever better to watch on a whim on the big TV, without having to hook up the laptop to it.

SunMo

i had unforgiven on my instant queue to watch through my xbox but now it's not available anymore.  i don't understand that theory.  what's the point of making them available and then unavailable if they are just streaming them.
