Major trade before the deadline:

Cleveland
Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Joe Smith, Delonte West, Chicago 2nd-rd pick

Chicago
Drew Gooden, Larry Hughes, Shannon Brown, Cedric Simmons

Seattle
Donyell Marshall, Ira Newble, Adrian Griffin

SunMo

wow...Cleveland got worse, by a lot
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

I don't think so. 4 of the 6 guys they lost never played and weren't important. I don't think it helps them all that much but it's not an awful move.

SunMo

they gave up their 2 next best players after lebron and didn't bring back near enough i don't think, wallace isn't very good anymore, szczerbiak is what he is, same with joe smith

maybe i overreacted a little after first seeing it, but i still don't think it's a very good trade for Cleveland, i reeks of making a deal just to make a deal.

If Gooden and Hughes are the 2nd and 3rd best players it was smart of them to make a move. Hughes is trash and Gooden is your run of the mill 12-8 guy who doesn't block shots. Wallace rebounds and blocks shots, Smith can score inside. Wally adds another competent shooter, considering they have no one outside of Gibson.

Seems like they made a trade just for the sake of it. Wallace and Smith have earned a lot of restecp in the NBA so it was probably just so Lebron didn't get any more pissed.

SunMo

i guess depending on the contact situations it could work out...i don't know, because this obviously isn't a move that will help them challenge the Celtics or Pistons

ice grillin you

The Pistons acquired guard Juan Dixon from the Raptors on Thursday, sending Primoz Brezec to Toronto in a one-for-one trade that is pending league approval.

very good points, not to mention the player the made out the most in this trade is Delonte West. He was above average in Boston because he was dishing to Pierce and shooting the ball nicely as well. He went to garbage Seattle and was shuffled around more than deck of cards. Also interesting to see how Wallace and Zman co-exist together swapping minutes

I think the Cavs did alright, but not even close to making an impact against the 2 top dogs in the East this year
