I am the Walrus

Lennon wrote different lines on different acid trips. He was playing his piano on acid one day when a siren went off which is the bit about Mr. Policeman. The Walrus is in reference to The Walrus and the Carpenter in Alice in Wonderland. Lennon didn't realize it at the time but the poem was about the capitalist and socialist systems. Upon reflecting on the lyrics of the song he later realized the Walrus was the bad guy and joked that he would have wrote "I am the Carpenter". This song is basically Lennon's anti-Dylan, he wanted to show that he could put a bunch of weird crap together too and get away with it. The whole idea of this obscure song was started with Lennon answering a schoolboys letter to him about his class disecting Beatles song lyrics. This song is genius.

Mars Volta - Octahedron - new cd leaked today. its very chill compared to their past cds. i am enjoying how simple it is. was a big fan of their first cd, deloused in the comatorium. since i have been sort of just mildly impressed since its been getting weirder and weirder, but this one is a fresh step forward.

Major Lazer

album is called Guns don't kill people...lazers do

seriously one of the sickest albums i've heard in a really long time.  kind of a reggae/techno/hip hop with really good beats.  i predict one of his songs will be the club anthem for this summer.  haven't heard anything like this in a while, really good shtein.

and LOL
"Major Lazer is a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. The US military rescued him and repurposed experimental lazers as prosthetic limbs. Since then Major Lazer has been a hired renegade soldier for a rogue government operating in secrecy underneath the watch of M5 and the CIA."
