Penn State's final game of the season at Michigan State (Nov 19, 4 PM) will be nationally televised on ESPN.

Am I the only one who has an awful feeling about this game?

How can we not?  Michigan State is certainly good enough to win if we go out there and lay a stinker.

I'm not so sure about that - the computers have PSU #3 as they are now.  If they had won at Michigan, I have to think they would be close to if not past Texas right now...

no way...the michigan game wouldnt have put them over top regardless but the fact that texas gets a conference championship game would have given it to them anyway

if they aren't going to do the obvious and create a playoff system, then they at least need to make the rules uniform for all the BCS conferences.  they either all need to have a championship game, or none of them.  it's not fair that some teams get to play an extra game against a team that can improve their quality wins and strength of schedule numbers.

Well, you are assuming they will win...there's a definite risk-reward there.

I'm a playoff guy, though.  I think the BCS bowls should be the first round.  8 teams is plenty, and if they started in December (instead of taking almost a month off after the last game for some teams) they wouldn't have to extend the season.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

oh yeah, I'm playoffs all the way, but it will never happen.  and you can even use the bowls for the whole playoff system.  you make the mid-major bowls like Outback, Capitol, Sugar etc as your 1st round.  then you make the Fiesta and Orange the Semi-Finals, and you make the Rose Bowl the final game.

I just hope they end up playing in the Citrus Bowl.  No offense to the Nits fans here but if I have to go, I'd rather see them than Ohio State or Wisconsin.

That makes the money for the bowl games, but not the schools.  The BCS already has a system for getting the best 8 teams into bowl games, including one or two "cinderella" stories (although the ND rule pisses me off).  Also, the big 4 do not want to concede that any of them are "lesser" bowls.  My plan puts them all at the same level, and the remaining playoffs are nameless.

That's right.  No Citrus in the title anymore.

this is true...in most instances the extra game actually hurts the teams involved as the game is normally a tough one and one team is going to lose...see the sec...

but in the wack 12 its a bonus cause texas gets to play a weak colorado team...weak in that they will beat them but strong enough that it will help their bcs numbers

They don't like to talk about that.  Neither attended Penn State rivals, though.
