That's what I had heard before.  The other thing I noticed last night was the dialogue about finding Reverand Smith, killed by Indians.  We all know that Al did a mercy-killing on the Rev, but I guess they added that in last night's episode to be historically correct.  Rev Smith was found by the side of a road with a bullet through his heart -- and no one ever knew how he died.

Al might have been making that up as a cover for what really happened. At least they didn't feed the Rev to the Hogs...

He put on a show for the press.Don't forget about the conversation he had with the newspaper man.

Thoughts on Episode 3?  I was cringing and twitching during the Doc/Al "insertion" scene.  That was just brutal...

So far, for the season, I have to give this about a 5 or 6 out of 10.  Last season was a 9.5 or higher, but this season seems to be taking too long to set-up.

By the way -- Deadwood trivia:   Mr. W. is played by Garret Dillahunt, the same actor who played Jack McCall in season 1.

I opted to do an offseason of Madden instead of watch...that never would have happened last year.

I thought lasts night episode was awesome.   The tension and dialog were top notch IMO.  Seeing EB turn from bully to a puddle of piss in a minute of dialog with Mr. W was great.   The Joanie/Mr W brothel scene was great too.   Im glad to see some character development finally from people like Alma Garrett, Trixie, Calamity Jane, and Joanie.  I think the show is only going to be carried as far as some of these female characters can take it.   They have already played a lot of the typical male stuff out of the box last year.

Father Demon

I also liked watching EB melt in front of Mr. W, and was really hoping to see some Joanie b00bage...   but, I still feel like the series is crawling along.  Maybe I was spoiled by last season's constant action and bravado....

I can see this year building as Al gets better and has to battle all of this claim stuff. Mr. W's going to get his along with some others once Al's feeling like his old randy self again. Things are getting back to normal in this episode and that's good for the story line.

I'm really looking forward to Al getting the Peter-Rooter treatment again.   :paranoid

A "friend" of mine had to be roto'd before, and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.  It hurts like hell.     Or so I hear  :paranoid

Best episode of the season by far. Maybe Milch has a trick up his sleeve with Mr. W and Jack McCall. I would lean towards that, but W has so far not even mentioned Bullock. That would be the only reason he would return to camp, to seek revenge.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Good episode last night i thought.  I missed the last two weeks, so it was alittle confusing at first.  I hope that new guy, who killed the three hookers, gets a beating next episode.  That guy needs to die again.  He plays characters that you love to hate.   :yay

The season is starting to warm up now. I think it's going to be fun watching Al get things under control in the camp.

It's not the same show unless Al is Al. Good thing he's back...for now. I heard things that his illness comes back.

I'm trying to figure out who the former tutor of Mrs. Garret's ward is working for.
