QuoteIf they had been wiseguys, I wouldn't have heard a thing.

Quotethe people walking in--including his family....everyone is a threat. I think that final scene was intended for the audience to feel exactly how Tony feels every minute of every day, and to make the audience actually and finally understand why he is the way he is.

either way, you always need to be suspicious of a guy in a Member's Only jacket
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

SunMo

oh, another piece that fits with the "life goes on" theory...the lyrics of the song at the end

QuoteWorking hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Journey lyrics are never meant to be interpreted.

this is what somebody else on another board said, which makes a lot of sense:

QuoteTony Soprano should be on cloud nine. His son, wife and daughter are happy. He just had a big win at work, coming out ahead of Phil in the war. He's with his family in the diner having a nice dinner. Life should be great.
He can't enjoy it, though. He has to look over his shoulder at all times. The truck driver. The Members Only guy. The black kids. Tony has contracted people who look like that to kill people many times over the years. We sat there and assumed, based on watching this show, that he was about to get shot. I know I didn't breathe for the last three minutes or so before it went black.
That's what Tony's life is like all the time. It doesn't matter whether he was killed in that diner, as he will end up killed in some diner, somewhere, at some point.

Thats a good write up...and it sums it up well. But I still thought it was chickenshtein

Would you have been happier if everyone got mowed down with machine guns?

I would have been happy with an all-naked Meadow episode.

PhillyPhreak54

That goes without saying...Playboy better get on dat ass

PhillyPhreak54

Paulie cracks me up though...the whole "pelt on your head" thing had me laughing

Figured this would happen. Chase hates closure. I doubt they're making a movie, so this is it.

I didn't think the episode was all that bad. The characters continued to be solidifed in who they are, which is good, but the final shot is Meadow coming into the diner. Odd choice, even though she's bangin.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
