QuoteThe Eagles made a roster move on Tuesday morning -- but not one involving a player on the 53-man roster.

They re-signed wide receiver Michael Gasperson to the practice squad and released wide receiver Robert Redd.

Gasperson was signed late in the preseason and played in one preseason game, against the Jets. He was then added to the practice squad until last week, when the Eagles signed kicker Todd France and released Gasperson.

The former University of San Diego standout will practice with the team when workouts resume Wednesday in preparation for the Chiefs game on Sunday.

As for France, he officially remains on the practice squad. It is expected that he will be promoted to the 53-man roster to kick in Kansas City as David Akers recovers from his right hamstring injuries.

You can catch the very latest on the team by tuning in to Eagles Live! on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. on PhiladelphiaEagles.com. Featured are press conferences from head coach Andy Reid, quarterback Donovan McNabb and safety Brian Dawkins.

They must think Gasperson has some upside, because Redd's versatility made him a valuable practice player.

Or else Redd got tired of doing laundry.
More Mahe please.

Gaspersons my boy. Good to hear he's back.

Dont worry....Redd will be back on the PS once France is moved up to the active roster...unless the Birds choose to keep Thornburgh around after he clears waivers.  IMO the spot that will be 'freed' when France is released as Akers comes back will be McDougle's spot.

I believe Reid is just rotating the PS so that 8-9 players will pick up a couple game checks.
More Mahe please.

Nyah. they do this a lot. They rotate players on the practice squad so they can keep "coaching" a greater array of players. Look for Redd to return and someone else to depart.

I totally agree. He's juggled guys like that before. The $4700 a week keeps them from wandering too far away, I guess.

Practice squad players can't possibly make that much money.
