Steelers linebacker James Farrior got a new contract before the start of the season.  And he'll be spending some of that new money as a result of using one of the oldest hand gestures known to man.

Farrior was fined $7,500 for showing his middle finger to fans at the Steelers-Browns game on Sunday night.

The veteran linebacker, whose actions drew a flag for taunting, claimed he was upset because Cleveland fans were celebrating an injury to Steelers safety Ryan Clark.  (Under that reasoning, every member of the Patriots organization should have license to give the finger to every Steelers fan in the world, given the black-and-gold euphoria that erupted once Tom Brady's knee imploded.)

despite his rep as mr. i love to block-#1 team player, hines ward is one of the biggest douchebags in the league & constantly does cocky shtein after he scores.  i despise him.

but since the person who wrote that awful blog isn't even on this board, i'm not sure it's worth arguing the point.
