QuotePatriots Notebook: If Brady and Dillon fought, they didn't know it

FOXBORO -- Corey Dillon reacted with disgust yesterday at the perception that he and Tom Brady had an issue on the sidelines after the Patriots' first touchdown drive Thursday night.

"Come on, me and Tom do not have a Donovan (McNabb) and T.O. (Terrell Owens) relationship," said Dillon, referring to the ongoing drama in Philadelphia between the Eagles' star quarterback and receiver. "I don't know what you guys are reading into that."

Dillon had a frustrating night trying to find room to run against Oakland. It was especially tough in the first half when he carried six times for three yards, including a four-yard loss in the red zone. Minutes later, ABC's cameras caught Brady heatedly speaking into Dillon's left ear as the running back marched away.

Dillon finished the night with 63 hard-earned yards on 23 carries and he scored two touchdowns.

"As a running back, everybody wants to go for 120 yards but some games it's not going to happen," said Dillon. "They took away the run so we went to the passing game. I don't get flustered at all. The game is what it was. As long as we come away with the win, who cares? I don't. It's not a big deal if I had one yard. Who cares?"

But he was mystified at the idea he and Brady had a problem.

"I think you need a review," said Dillon, who hadn't seen ABC's footage. "Did you ask Tom about this?"

As Dillon said that, Brady emerged from the shower.

"Tom, he says we were fighting," Dillon laughed.

"Never had a problem with him in my life," said Brady. "Never."

Early Friday morning, after the game ended, Brady was asked what was said on the sidelines.

"Probably a lot of swear words," he said. "I'm always trying to fire people up and it fires me up. Corey made a great play on the touchdown going toward the lighthouse. The plays he had a chance to make, I thought he ran great."

Last I checked, McNabb and TO denied it after the game too.

Remember?

Sounds AWFULLY familiar....

QuoteMcNabb and Owens downplayed the shouting incident, with both saying Owens was only trying to encourage the quarterback.

"When things aren't happening, you get frustrated," McNabb said. "He was there telling me to be positive about everything. I'm usually the guy to provide confidence, but today he was that guy."

Yeah, but the media believes Tom Brady.  I mean... no way the all-American perfect guy would lie.

Corey Dillon had the...uh...'TO rep' coming from Cincy. Funny how that's not mentioned.

The second he donned the Patriots jersey, he could do no more wrong in life. He was a changed man. I actually think there were articles written by the national newspapers about how he's not the same person he was in Cinci. lol

It's cuz he's white!
When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil.

maybe they will have a mcnabb and TO relationship after they drop this years superbowl appearance to the eagles and dillons stuffed for 31 yds rushing in the game.

Just an FYI....Dillon made some big fuss in the locker room after the game the other day and said he will not be talking to the media again this season.

:-D Sound familiar?

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

as part of the NFL draft, i think all players should have their throats ripped out when the commissioner reads their name on the podium.

this is the only way these atheletes will shut up.
