Pope Francis
Least he got a dig in at the Trump administration before he checked out
I remember when he was announced. I was working a job in a Jewish household. Retirees. Just me and another carpenter. Homeowners present and known to us. Friendly setting. We all stopped to watch as Francis came out.
"Pray for me," he asked.
We all looked at each other. That's different.
He didn't seem evil, so if you're talking about a Catholic leader, that's saying something.

Looks like an old white guy shot him
is Paul Pelosi accounted for?
Kirk thought it was real funny when a MAGAt tried to kill him...
Gun violence in Utah is getting out of hand. Trump should send in the national guard

Dude hasn't been caught yet. Seen some saying the shot he took pretty much means it was someone well trained. Saw others say with the right rifle and equipment that it wouldn't be that hard of a shot. Not sure what you military folks think

Heard the shot was 200 meters out, any moderately trained gunman with a scope could pull that off. I was surprised only one round was fired
It sounded like a rifle shot to me for sure.
And it was a neck shot.
The video was pretty graphic.
He's being made into a martyr
a mayrtr for what?
hate? fear? ignorance?
First thought after I heard about this was 'goddamn it I forgot the onion soup mix' for the meatloaf I was planning on making for dinner.
Anyway, it turned out great. Thankfully I had an extra packet in the cupboard.

Huh. That's weird. I keep hearing it had to be a guy with the skills of Jason Bourne or John Wick to cap someone at 200 yards.
The interwebz are weird tonight.

Whichever the MAGAts want to apply to the martyrdom they're doing.
Seeing the comments on FB last night were quite over the top. It'll be interesting to see if they end up catching this person who shot him. And if they do will they sweep it under the rug like Cheeto's Magic Ear Event?
The reactions from my coworkers ranged from mildly ridiculous to completely unhinged.
One started bitching about MLK having a holiday so why shouldn't Charlie Kirk.
Lots of "oh those poor kids" and why are liberals celebrating his death - that's just sick!
I didn't say a word. Just kinda sat there quietly and then went to my office and looked up how many more days I have to go till my retirement date on August 1, 2032.

Former Bengals RB Rudi Johnson dead at 45 sadly from suicide.
I respect a suicide. Ain't no one else live his life. He decided to go, his call.

I first met him in the late 70's when I was playing hockey in high school. He visited our practice in Ocean City as a guest of our coach. He was working with the goalies and was just an incredibly nice guy to all of us no matter how truly awful we were talent-wise. I never forgot that. RIP, Bernie.

QuoteBuccaneers announced the passing of former Pro Bowl running back Doug Martin. He was 36.
QuoteOAKLAND, Calif. - Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders star running back Doug Martin has been identified as the suspect who died in Oakland Police Department custody on Saturday after suffering an unspecified medical emergency.
Sources confirmed to KTVU on Sunday evening that Martin, 36, died in a hospital after he became unresponsive following his arrest by OPD officers who were responding to reports of a possible break-in.
The backstory:
Officers were called about 4:15 a.m. on Saturday to a home in the 11000 block of Ettrick Street on reports of the break-in at the same time the department received reports of a person "experiencing a medical emergency" at the same location, the OPD told KTVU.
The department said officers found the suspect – later identified as Martin – inside. However, when they tried to detain him, he allegedly briefly resisted.
OPD officers managed to take him into custody, where he became unresponsive and was taken by paramedics to a hospital.
The OPD did not specify why Martin had been taken into custody.
The nature of Martin's medical emergency was not known, and the OPD said its Homicide Section and Internal Affairs Bureau, as well as the Oakland City Police Commission, the Community Police Review Agency and the Alameda County District Attorney's Office will be conducting an investigation into his death.
The officers who were involved in the arrest leading up to the death were placed on paid administrative leave.

That sounds fishy.
We'll see what the facts show.
