Title: Week 15 - Steelers: Football or Drama?
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on December 15, 2024, 10:28:21 AM
Is Jalen going to force balls to AJ and Devonta? Will he be successful if he does?

Or do they do what they've been doing and the WRs continue to stew?

No George Pickens is big. But Wilson has been moving the ball well even without him.

No George Pickens means the D can't count on at least one free 15yard penalty, often at the worst moment for the Steelers...

As the kids say, I'm low-key happy that Jalen didn't force the ball there and instead protected it for a little 2 yard gain.   Don't know what he was seeing, but maybe there was nothing else available and he at least didn't make things worse.

And Jake made the kick so it's not a total loss the first drive

Jalen Carter makes the second downplay
Nolan Smith makes the third downplay

Second three and out

Defense giving Mike Tomlin in trouble

Over him?

He's an all-time great and instant walk-in Hall of Famer and he's still in his prime. I don't understand what the hatred is of him.  I mean, I guess he's a prick sometimes?  How can you be a head coach and not be a prick sometimes?

The game always had that close feel but after Harris's fumble complete beat down hundred percent ass whoopin'!

Pittsburgh hardly has the ball the second half.

Oh my God, this defense is really damn good

Some of those first half sacks Jalen took I thought he could've just dumped the ball off or thrown it away but he had an excellent game! His fumble was no foul, no harm.

Kenny Gainwell!!

Missed a lot bc we had to make an emergency vet run right after kick off. One of the cats was pretty sick. He's cool now.

Watched most of it on my phone in the room but missed a lot of details so just playing catch up now.

Another dominant win

while momentum can be great, if they win the next 2 games and the lions never lose again they will have to play 16 straight weeks before a possible bye

That sucks bud glad to hear the cat is ok. My aunts cat has an ongoing problem with its urinary tract. It's a farging expensive nightmare

1st quarter when they were going heavy AJ thought it was gonna be another 3 TD game like the game we watched in Houston

Kudos to the O line in pass pro. Thats a great d line and they held them in check. Hurts had a couple of hiccups but otherwise he was phenomenal. The entire world knew they were gonna try to establish the pass and they did it at will. Saquan was a non factor tonight. I do hope they go back to jamming him down defenses throats until they're sick of him. Control the clock and wear D's down. They're not winning shootouts. Kenny G got that 2022 playoff vibe going.

Speaking of 2022 this team would crush them. Hello Nolan Smith...bust my ass. This d is straight farging nasty. Still think the lynchpin is Mitchell. He just shuts his side of the field down. D line/Lbs are straight money. Baun was quiet tonight...Dean wasn't. A monster TE pushes slay back into the wall yea we're comin for your ass. Last years D was bitch ass this year they got swagger on swagger. Bills/Birds book your tickets

they really couldnt get anything going with saquon...it had to be on hurts and to his credit he was not an abomination for once. i dont think he can do this for 3/4 games in a row in the playoffs, so yes theyre gonna need to continue playing the normal way
Title: Re: Week 15 - Steelers: Football or Drama?
Post by: SD on December 15, 2024, 09:05:29 PM
They came out slingin the rock...empty backfield. Maybe because the Steelers d is great against the run but more likely Moore game planned a passing attack to shut everyone the farg up and make AJ and Smith happy. The Steelers pass D is no joke. Hurts shoved it down their throats and made them like it

Good point on Nolan Smith. He's finding his way and they need him to keep it up. Jalen wrecks fools on the regular.

PIT's pass rush started to get home and Jalen reverted back to holding the ball a bit longer than needed. Thankfully he got back into his rhythm. It didn't help that Dickerson went out tho.

Had to work today, just catching the highlights now. Jalen sure did make some basic-ass throws he previously wasn't. Shame about the fumble fighting for yards. Shame about DeJean's fumble. Shame that the red zone remains undefeated against Saquon.

A.J. Brown deserves to have a Hall of Fame career and won't even come close to it.

So they have a CEO HC, a game manager QB, an OLine that tells the HC to run the ball more, then WRs that tell the HC to throw the ball more. It's inevitable the kicker tells the HC to go for longer FGs next week. Love this team's innovative approach, whatever works to get the wins.

Slay and Mitchell threw punches they should have been ejected. Love the fight. farg Pittsburgh

Biggest thing Moore did tonight was utilize the underneath routes. High % pass plays letting their playmakers make plays.

how many completions did hurts have down the field? he can throw a fine deep ball as long as its a go but they had like aj running corners last week and he was angry they werent hitting...like my dude hurts aint making that. <10 yards is his zone

About that:

Gimpy's fist hits Jalen in the front of his helmet before glancing off onto the ball.

This is not at all the first time I've seen a player get punched in the head by a defender who is purportedly attempting to punch the ball.

Has anyone ever seen an attempt at a "peanut punch" flagged as unecesary roughness?  The example yesterday was not eggregious...but I've seen others that make me say..."how is that legal?"

Saw that!  Threw his forearm and elbow right to the side of his noggin!  Happened so fast no way refs could see it.

Love the Steelers fans crying about the punches thrown in the Slay scrum and Jalen Carter's bitch slap. still don't know what set off JC, but if you're gonna let punches be thrown and get away with it that was the time as that was such a bush league, bitch ass move by #80 on Steelers.
