I haven't caught a lot of these games but I have come across some pretty cool highlights here and there. But there is one sport that turns me off to the point of complete disgust and honestly makes me ashamed of being American. In shooting we are only in 3rd place. 3rd. I mean, with the hundreds of millions of people we have at our disposable to represent us (minus a lot in prison, I suppose), how are we not totally kicking the entire rest of the world's ass here? Thomas Crooks could have made this team, it's a joke.
Watching this triathalon in the Seine river in Paris, that f'ing water looks disgusting. Screw the Gatorade and power gel, hand um' an IV of Penicillin and a Z pack at the bike transition.

Olympics are as good as the time zone. Always been the case but even more so in the internet spoiler age. France and La good Australia will suck.
this was def better than rio, which had a great time zone. beijing had both things going against it..completely overrun by china's own issue compounded by a god awful time zone. tokyo never got off the ground with covid and the time zone.
brisbane is going to be interesting to see how they do it. they can easily put a ton of events in the australia late AM/early PM and hit our primetime. but not everything can go there, and anything that doesnt will be middle of the night and might as well never happen
Probably the best Olympics of our lifetime. I always become obsessed for two weeks and am now going through that slump when they're over. But Paris especially did all the little things right. Beach volleyball right in front of the Eiffel Tower. Equestrian at the palace of Verseilles. Passing the torch through the Louvre. All the famous backdrops for the events, no ones ever going to beat that. LA's going to obviously have that Hollywood vibe which will still be fun but just totally different vibe.
Side note our generation has seen the Dream Team, and now this team, and we'll likely never have a group of guys on our basketball team like this again in our lifetime. which is pretty sad. maybe in 2036 or something if any of these guys become all timers but we're looking at booker, Edwards, Tatum, and Brunson type starters in 2028. I really want Ant to become the new face of the league.
