A nice challenge coming up against that Wash DL.

If they can run on them watch out.

Also would like to see them beat the piss out of Howell like Buffalo did.

Maybe Reddick will wake up this week?

What exactly is going on with Reddick?  I tried to watch him last night but I was to fixated on the two man children.

Now that Snyder is gone I have to admit I hate the team from Washington less.

Maybe a smidge less but I still hate their fans and wish them many years of false hope and misery.

Yup. If they ever become legit contenders, it will all come crashing back just how insufferable their fanbase is, and all the more so if the Eagles are in a down cycle. In the mean time, some point and laugh nostalgia.
QuoteWe loves us some us :).

ExtremeSkins Fan View: Cap Hell Rocks!

By Arthur Mills

ExtremeSkins.com

March 16, 2006

Don't hate us because we're beautiful.

No more blank, wondering stares, confused head scratching, frothing emotional outbursts, conspiracy theories or embarrassing, dismissive references to 2000. The Washington taterskins are the central theme of every NFL team message board out there. Here's a message to you all from all ExtremeSkins fans everywhere.

It's time to embrace the reality of it all. Simply, we're better than you.

That's it. Look no further. We are better than you. We're more fun. It feels better to be us. We've got flair. We're audacious, capricious, bodacious, supercalifragilisticxpalidocious.

Are you finally getting it?

Yes, yes, I know cap hell was supposed to be upon us. I know that's what you've been told. I feel for you, I really do. As you come to realize we're better than you, a second bit of stark reality must also penetrate. We're smarter than them.

Repeat after me.

The Washington taterskins are managed, coached and owned by highly professional people who know more about running a football franchise than ALL the unnamed, anonymous sources any reporter has yanked from the broom closet and quoted.

Don't take my word for it. Take the following words for it.

Brandon Lloyd, Antwaan Randle El, Adam Archuleta, Andre Carter, Todd Collins, Christian Fauria.

The question you all should be asking isn't, "How is all this possible?" No. The question should be, "How didn't we know this was all possible?"

Six years of assurances cap hell was on the way and you still allowed yourself to believe the tripe. Perhaps busting the cap hell myth as it relates to the Washington taterskins is just too painful a thing for media and fans of other teams to do.

Like a child coming to the harsh knowledge Santa doesn't exist, the media and opposing teams' fans are struggling desperately to hang on to the fiction that cap hell is on the way for the taterskins despite--literally--YEARS of demonstrated contrary evidence.

Here's the best part.

You don't have to hate us for what we're doing. You can do it, too.

"The thing I want to emphasize is this: We haven't done one thing that anybody else can't do," Joe Gibbs said after the introductory press conference for Andre Carter. "We have certain rules in the league. Here's the cap, here's the numbers, here's what you can spend, so everybody in the league can do what we're doing, it's just that they choose not to, many of them."

Deep down, this is really the issue, isn't it? You can do it too and you know it, but, your team doesn't do it, so, you have a hard choice. Hate your team, or hate us.

Say you're a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. You always have all those many millions available, which somehow never seem to get spent. All week you're hearing how you have LeCharles Bentley locked up as your free agent masterstroke to solidify your offensive line.

You are giddy. You're thrilled. You know this is the guy you need. He fills a need and makes it a strength. You're excited about the prospects of adding such a substantial piece. Then, the Cleveland Browns call, offer a few more bucks to Bentley and Bentley winds up in Cleveland leaving you with nothing more than whimpering excuses that Bentley is from Cleveland and always wanted to play there.

Oh, hush.

Antwaan Randle El is from Chicago. He's always wanted to play there. Yet he's playing in D.C. Adam Archuleta admits he adores Lovie Smith after years playing for him with St. Louis and wanted to play with him in Chicago. Yet he's playing in D.C. Andre Carter just had to meet the Broncos because his father played there 12 years and he envisioned being the second generation of his family with the team. Yet he's playing in D.C.

And it's driving you crazy because you were so excited and thrilled about the prospects of adding a good player your management and owner can't figure out how to land while we get EVERY single player we shoot at.

We get to actually live the thrill and giddiness you only get to brush up against. And it's killing you.

Did we pay a premium for generally young players entering their prime with years left to play in the NFL? You bet we did. Kind of like when the Eagles lock up their own young players for a premium before they really emerge on the scene and everyone calls that genius. Think of it like that, only, with the component of actually being smart because an expensive 24-year-old promising receiver suddenly becomes a very cheap 26-year-old receiver when he grabs 80 balls.

See, we already had good players under contract. Now we have more.

As you struggle to find words to describe the coming cap doom heading our way, try to process one final thought. When you have that free agent you need all lined up and you don't get him, well, isn't that really what cap hell feels like?

I wouldn't know, because I don't ever have to feel that way.

Yeah I think 8 is probably way too low.  Sam Howell is worse garbage than the last 6 QBs they have thrown out there. Jalen Carter and defense going to destroy them.

Side note - I put my Dallas tickets up for $500 each and someone bought them yesterday lol.

its def cheaper than that in the lot before the game. i dont know when romey bought it, but im guessing you couldve got in last year anywhere from a grand to 1500. and that was a desirable SB in a desirable location.

04 with the pats 3rd in 4 years, so their fans were over it. it was just whatever eagles fans were willing to go to godforsaken jacksonville

I love the play...pays homage to Rugby, which American Football drew from heavily...and it's not even automatic.  Not every team can do it.  Football is a game of mashing.  Outlawing the Brotherly Shove would be a travesty.

You don't like it?  Stop them. Either on the shove, or earlier, so it's not an option.

Hey, the Bucs stopped it once, and I truly believe 90% of this success is hurt's incredible strength. Sorry NFL, little Kenny Gainwell of even Swift is not much assistance bowling through 350 lb linemen.  Maybe the rest of the league better head to Japan and start signing Sumo wrestlers.  I love the play!

Yep don't like it then stop it.

That's what people say when guys showboat or score a lot.

It's a football play. Maybe teams should load up the G-C-G gaps even more? Take a risk of selling out. But they don't do the Eagles should continue.

the play is objectively stupid but the fact that everyone is in their feelings about it makes it all the more fun to run over and over

Between him with that and how triggered Chris Simms is by Jalen overall it's fun to watch them cry.

Before too long DT may find itself alone at the top of the defense hierarchy. Dallas spent their 1st rounder on a NT trying to catch up with the rest of our division, which is pretty stout through the interior Dline.

Inactives

Hope to see them punish Howell and create some turnovers.

Would be nice for Hurts to have a get right game too but that Wash DL is fierce. OL better be on point.

Outplayed.  Outcoached.  Even outlucked.

The ball's literally bouncing Washington's way today.  One fumble between two WFT players for a touchdown.  Another bounces right back to the RB.

The Eagles need something on this drive.  Once score, they get the ball after halftime, and they can get something going.

And maybe the defense can start actually... you know... STOPPING the other team?

1. thought desai has been good through the first 3 games...but big yikes here. carved up by bienemy. sam howell was impressive, but they made it easy on him. i know the secondary is patch work but real bad stuff here. matt stafford lickin his chops.

2. really strong offensive performance. it wasnt going to be easy against wash. they put up their points and did their thing. and they did it with long fields on just about every possession. really tough to get to 30+ when you're always backed up because the defense aint doin shtein.

3. aj brown. thats it.

4. just an asinine decision by sirianni on two different occasions. first was taking the illegal formation instead of the 4th and 1. what are you doing bro. then trying to score a td at the end of regulation. they needed 4 yards to ice the game and walk off with a field goal. you know your defense was garbage. what good is happening giving them another crack? huh. what. just no.

5. riverboat ron is a Hoyda. they wouldve won the game if he went for 2 at the end of regulation. fireable offense.

6. jake elliott is the 2nd best kicker in the league behind tucker. total baller. love it.

EXACTLY!

I slept in today, not getting up at 6:45 AM on Sunday, week 4.  Like the loser I am I actually chose the Phillies game, meaningless game to get to 90 W was quite enjoyable.  I avoided my phone, pleaded with my wife to walk the ogs in case some neighbor said something.  YouTube TV allowed me to watch entire game delayed, perfect.  Made the mistake of checking my phone for some asinine reason as I watched end of Phils. Buddy texts me "Wow!  You're kicker is solid." OK maybe they couldn't score so he hits 5 FG birds win by 10.  Never expectd this!

Great, they won but the "every game is hard, we don't care about stats, we haven't played our best football" banter is getting old.

UGLY as shtein today.  AJ good, Smith good, Swift good, O Line still not great, Hurts mixed bag, Defense shockingly awful.

At this rate Niners, Chiefs, Dallas, Miami will destroy these guys.

The 15 yarder against Brown after the TD was exactly the sort of idiotic ridiculous bullshtein call I've come to expect from the four-eyed borderline retarded officiating crews in 2023.

I still can't get over the neutral zone flag on the Birds when the WFT DT's helmet was entirely over the line.  And now I see that his farging paw was actually touching the ball and they still called it on Lando.

Embarrassing to say the least.

Also - I'd say McLaurin's catch was actually in-bounds too, but it was so close you'd need an Irishman's dick to measure the difference.

Those farging announcers and people today going on and on about the Eagles scoring that late AJ TD instead of running the clock out and scoring a FG.  farg that.  The odds of Jake Elliot missing a FG are probably a bit more than allowing San farging Howell to go 80 yards in 90 seconds.  He did but still I can't imagine being mad that they scored a TD there. What Hoydas.

Yeah national radio and their mouth breathing callers were ranting about him being a show boat and they only did it to placate him bc of his sideline rant the other week

If you're concerned about Sam Howell beating you, you should really take up another line of work.

The defense played like 80 year old fat lady ass, but that doesn't mean you play scared and go for a field goal.

I'm more concerned with them forgetting about Swift for Gainwell.  Typical overthinking stupidity from the Eagles.  You have a thoroughbred and you're more concerned with keeping the plow horse engaged.  Just makes zero sense but whatever.

Totally agree if you let little Sam Howell beat you with a minute what was it 43 seconds left? you got bigger issues.  AJ
Taunting call and having to kick off 15 yards further back was the issue.  Yes it was a weak ass call and those two had been jabbing at each other all game.  It wasn't like he spiked it at him or leaned over him and referenced his mama or baby girl but this Hoyda league is becoming quite annoying.
