Chiefs 77

I don't think the Chiefs can even try to lose this game.  Fatty could play quarterback from his hospital bed and they still beat this, should I say "work in progress"

early line is 7 which feels dangerously low

even if the chiefs didnt take this seriously the eagles couldnt win. coming off 2 L's it feels like 100-0.

I saw 7 before last night's massacre. The Eagles aren't quite at the DET/NYJ/JAX/HOU level where you can pencil them in as double digit dogs against good teams, and the game is at home. That said everyone and their mother is going to take KC at 7 so that line is moving up.

It opened 5.5 and last I saw was 7.5

Chiefs defense is hot flaming garbage.

Apparently, with a win Andy Reid will become the first coach to win 100 games (including postseason) with two different franchises.

Better get that graphic ready, CBS...

have you seen the eagles offense

this is like the homers on twitter who talk about how easy the eagles 2nd half sked is...im like the eagles are the easiest game on every single one of their second half opponents schedule....nothing is easy when you are arguably the worst team in the nfl
Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man
Post by: General_Failure on September 29, 2021, 10:05:34 PM
Come on now, they're probably better than the Colts.
Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man
Post by: QB Eagles on September 29, 2021, 10:17:56 PM
Things can obviously change but as of now the Eagles are in the second tier from the bottom along with the likes of the Colts and Bears. Jags, Jets, Giants have been the most putrid looking teams I've seen. Think the Eagles would beat the Falcons and Lions more times than not too. Texans, Steelers, Dolphins would be toss ups.

Bad news for the Birds is only 4/14 of the remaining games are on that list. Good news is they have the Fins and Colts picks.
Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man
Post by: ice grillin you on September 29, 2021, 10:47:55 PM
they are easily a bottom five team...where in the bottom five will depend on injuries and they are already ravaged...what gives them a shot at the number one overall pick is that they have the worst qb in the nfl and it might not be close
Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man
Post by: MDS on September 29, 2021, 10:51:02 PM
good thing the qb's at the top of the draft are so good....eagles gonna get their pick of the litter
Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man
Post by: ice grillin you on September 29, 2021, 10:54:20 PM
no hyperbole this might be the worst qb draft of all time...of course qb's go higher than they should because they are qb's but take position out of it and there isnt a college qb who should go in the first round
Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man
Post by: MDS on September 29, 2021, 11:06:10 PM
i doubt theyre smart about it but coming away with an edge rusher and a DB with their 2 10 picks isnt bad. yes that means punting on qb until 2023 but so what, its going to take more than 1 draft to fix this
Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man

Howie is looking to package them all up for Wilson or (less likely) Rodgers. He would have tried it with Watson if he wasn't a rapist. Can't afford to farg up at QB anymore so he wants to buy an established one like Tampa did.

Tampa to GOAT:

Good coach ✔️
Great staff ✔️
Solid foundation ✔️
We're very close ✔️

Eagles to Wilson, Watson:

zesty front office,✔️
out of his element coach ✔️
Bad drafts, FA signings ✔️
5-6 years away ✔️

rodgers i believe is going to be let go from his contract, so he'll choose where he signs and he will not choose the eagles

wilson is The One Who Got Away. if this seahawks season gets away from them...look out

Dio - there's a moment when taking the TO to save a penalty is not advisable.

If you're committed to going then you take it and send the offense back. But if you aren't then take the yards and hit a FG.

Also Hurts has to hit Ertz. Brutal miss.

Dio - there's a moment when taking the TO to save a penalty is not advisable.

It's almost never adviseable...,

In this case, it was egregious bush league farg up.  Five more yards on the FG try would have been nothing.

Having that time out at the end of hte half might be something significant.

Maybe Sirianni should argue that if you see JJAW on the field, you know he's going to be only blocking.

outside of the first one, they had to kick those

obviously the execution in the red zone is uhhhh bad but im not gonna yell at sirianni for kicking a fg in massively low % conversion situations

All three picks in the first need to be used on defense.

And someone tell that little shtein Howie that LBs are a useful part of a defense.

They're going to have to spend picks elsewhere.  Unfortunately they don't have 22 first round picks this year to correct what's wrong nor do they have competent personnel men to pick them.

This is 2012 and these are the Phillies.  Get used to another decade of this garbage.

I won't get hyped over the possibility of the #1 overall pick. If they get it they will spend it on the Mickey Moniak of CFB. Three picks in the top 10 would be tasty though.

No way I was getting up at 6:30 AM to watch a circus.  Just watched on DVR.  Have not looked at one comment as I am sure I echo everything said.

I will only watch this team to see:

Kelce
Hargrave
Davonte
Quez
Gainwell

Rest of the team and staff can kiss my ass.

I can't wait for next year, not for the draft or to see if they improve, but not seeing Dillard and Barnett in an Eagles uniform again.

Also if their playcalling in the redzone isn't garbage-ass garbage. But yes, generally if teams play better they should win games they lost.

they're 1-3 and not a good team but they are more fun to watch than they have been in a while.  some fun young guys on offense and I don't know what game you were watching but hurts looked solid yesterday.  yeah he missed a few very important TD throws but I'm so much happier watching him lose than I would be Carson.

Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man
Post by: Diomedes on October 04, 2021, 10:10:47 AM
He doesn't stink.  Neither is he a Franchise QB.

He's never going to stink, and he's never going to be Aaron Rodgers.

There's room for success in the middle if other talent is provided in support, and if coaching improves.  I think he's a fantastic figure to have around a team, is football smart, works as hard as anyone could hope so whatever can be improved, will be imoproved, etc.

I don't see the point of dumping on him.

Okay fine, but how many NFL starters are there in the world?  By your standards, 15 or so?  He's the guy we've got and I'll lose every game rooting for him before winning with DeShaun farging Watson or Carson farging Wentz.   It's a team sport.  Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl.  Put a team around Hurts and with some improvement from experience and hard work, he's probably good enough.

You ain't getting the franchise back in this upcoming draft, if all the know-it-alls are right.

Clearly.  Neither the strength nor the accuracy.  Nor can he read and fire fast enough to be a franchise QB.

Question is, can he do the rest well enough to not cause the team to lose...
Title: Re: Week 4 - Chiefs: Oh Man
Post by: General_Failure on October 04, 2021, 10:57:59 AM
You could make an argument based on stats that there were about 23 starting caliber quarterbacks last year, going with the criteria of 300+ completions (unless injured) and a 90+ qb rating. That gets you Bridgewater and Goff, but not Andy Dalton or Cam Newton.

yea this isnt anything

its backup/low tier starter territory. which is where he is. hurts is a fine 2nd qb to have on your roster. he aint no starter and aint no franchise guy.

Pretty much this. You can't teach arm strength. I'm glad we're rid of Wentz but he can zip a ball 20 yards over the middle between defenders into a tight pocket. Hurts needs receivers that are wide open. Roll outs and moving the pocket around to give them time. Still not sure why they're ignoring the run game. Seems maybe they'd want to keep kc's offense off the field since cheetah was essentially running a track meet. They still wouldn't win but getting into shoot out isn't a good strategy either. Chiefs d line isn't the Buddy Ryan Eagles but the make shift o line wasn't bad.

i thought this too but reading this week...when the chiefs lose its almost always via teams getting to the high 20's or 30's. you cannot beat them 17-13 and hope to bleed the clock, field position, shorter game, etc. gotta run with them. its why their strategy was sound for dallas. they had to score with them and of course could not.

Great point, was very impressed with the o line yesterday even against weak Chiefs D.  A lot of the sack hurts took were on him.  He had so many opportunities to step up in the pocket and get mobile, run or buy a little more time but he would just become a statue and freeze.

As much as I want to rip Dillard other than the cost of the penalty he playing a descent game.  Lane is a head case, Brooks breaks a bone when he farts, seumalu is now getting the injury bug.  What i saw yesterday was ok.

Eagles in this game are the first known team to lose a game in which they had no punts and no turnovers and they lost by 12
