Marcus Smith revenge game?

Marcus Smith revenge game?
He looked semi-decent against the niners. Not good, but he was involved in plays and looked like he belonged on a football field.
I feel like the revenge should be going in the opposite direction on that one.
:-D :-D :-D
Looks like we will see this week just how good the Eagles run game is. 5.7 yd. avg. per carry last 3 games vs the Seahawks who have held last 4 opponents to 2.7 avg. per carry. Seahawks overall D isn't what is was in recent years but they still have some really good LB's.
Jenkins is gonna' have to step it up covering their TE Graham . That's were they could do some damage, but don't have any other real threats that scare anyone on this team other than maybe Wilson's scrambling ability. But, he's their leading rusher and their run game sucks. I'd like to see them get out to a big lead 'cause Wilson has been pretty hot in the 4th quarter.
I look for Wentz to light the Seahawks pass D up. No Richard Sherman. They're hurting back there.
shtein, I just read that SS Chancellor is out also, probably for the season with a neck injury.

Yeah well looks like Marcus Smith has already been covered.
I just can't believe the 9ers traded Joe Montana to KC.
Rumor is the Eagles are gonna trade for Urlacker.

Graham's useless between the 20's, he drops everything and has trouble getting open. He runs a decent seam pattern but he plays stiff as a board. He's a redzone TE at this point in his career.
The Eagles have a good D line and the Seahawks have crap so naturally you'd assume they'd get to Wilson. But he does those 10-15 yard rollouts where you ask yourself what the farg is he doing...then he wings it down the field to Baldwin. They live off those broken plays.

Its all they have.
Kendricks is a key.
Need him to spy Wilson and prevent him from moving around as much as possible.
wilson is playing out of his mind and can run circles around any LB. hes my fantasy qb so ive watched him a ton. hes playing at an insane level and is the only reason seattle isnt 3-8 right now.
seattle has been a terrible first half team though. most of their damage has come in the 2nd half. jump on them. control the clock in the 2nd half. wilson will start doing his thing, but you limit it. thats the plan.

He's the most valuable player in the league because he is Seattle's entire offense. Not just metaphorically, he's literally the guy collecting all of the yards.
Based on how the MVP is actually decided though, it's AO1's to win or lose over the next 2 weeks.
brady is the mvp right now....but he may get punished not because hes won a million of them but because people want a new guy
wentz is close enough that he could legit over take him
obviously the next couple of weeks will matter a lot but a lot will also depend on which team hits their clinch ceiling first

if the vote was today wentz would win. you wouldnt be wrong in choosing brady but the writers would be on ao1.
the last eagle to win the mvp was norm van brocklin in 1960
1. he was from south dakota
2. he threw for 2,471 yards, 24 tds and 17 ints that year.
Always thought it was odd there wasn't an AFC MVP and an NFC MVP. Does there really need to be a league MVP?
damn, until I just looked I forgot that mark moseley won it in '82.

they can give it to whoever they want but brady not easily but clearly should win it right now....hes simply been better

yes...baseball is different because there are different rules for each league but you have to have a league mvp othherwise you are basically having co-mvps every year
My issue is the Brady/Wentz debate. They're both MVP worthy, so why not split it up. Does the common fan really give a damn if there's an MVP for each league?

That's the difference between MLB and NFL structure. MLB is like 2 "independent" leagues under the MLB umbrella. AL/NL MVPs make more sense because, as stated, they have different rules. And also because up until interleague play started, AL and NL teams never faced each other besides the WS.
The NFL could do Conference MVPs I guess, but it doesn't make much sense since there are no differences at all between the AFC and NFC. And people would still want a league MVP anyway.
might as well just do divisional mvp's while we are at it
also baseball awards are 100 million times more meaningful than in any other sport but especially the nfl...theres just so much history that even if everything was equal they would never go to a MLB MVP
there should be awards for each team at each position

Yes, they were playing off too much in the first drive. Hopefully they adjust quickly
Meh, I'm alright with both decisions. That is, not to challenge spot of ball--it was a first down--and also the call to punt. It's early in the game, they're in Seattle...it's alright to play it conservative early on.

That run play where Ertz lines up off the line with his hands on his knees and then dips inside to block is getting pretty predictable, time to change it up Chip Dougy.

Don't worry guys, what are the odds that Wilson bullshteins them down the field to score again?

you mean an mvp super bowl winning qb doing something good?
Angle they just showed was deceiving. Clearer from main angle that Barner didn't get out with pace which is what a Wentz was expecting. Wentz missed both long passes but not that one.
jalen mills putting on a tackling clinic tonight
Seattle is desperate, they lose tonight they put them selves in deep shtein.
Birds just showed up that's about it.

Kinda impressive to see Jerrigan keeping pace with him. Shame nobody made a tackle twenty yards earlier.
Wilson with a Wentz-like miss there.
That's gotta be IG

You mean the little paroutte he pulled was unnecessary on that pattern?
Great hit by Barnett.

farg this shtein already, I'm going to the gym
has any team ever been more exposed than doug pedersons offense tonight
You could tell that was going to be a great play by how everyone was confused.
They will need at least 1 if not 2 TDs from the defense/STs to win. And Doug to get his head out of his ass.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the defense isn't getting them points.
Holy shtein.

That was some bullshtein that would make Favre splooge.

Holy shtein again...not as amazing as the first one but still
Wooooooooooo
well carson wentz might be ok after all
Uh oh. Maybe got a game here.
What a drive.
Just think of how sweet that would have been if the TD pass had been less wobbly.
Fumble out of the end zone. Could have kicked a fg last possession. 10 points off the board and they're down 7.
dat teardrop
also byron maxwell stopped running.....he sucks

His scramble bullshtein is killing them
great coach doe
Russel Wilson doing Russel Wilson things.
Um, great defense guys
Over
Kendricks might be kinda garbage in coverage.
thats actually not terrible
they could have run way more time off the clock
so you challenge on an inch you wouldve gotten anyway but not on the game...that was your chance to get off the field
douglas pederson
Plenty of time for them to score a quick one and Seattle to run six minutes off the clock to end it. :yay
Pederpson is back in full force tonight.
Game on the line. About 20 seconds of tv replays and commentary showing it clearly went forward before the next play is snapped. No challenge. Brilliant!
Wilson may be the biggest one man band in NFL history
The refusal to challenge was ridiculous. farg you Doug
not to mention seattle had the field goal after that flip...and 10 points with 7 minutes to super difficult
on no level did it make sense to not challenge that even if it was 50/50...theres your analytics you farging idiots
clement was wide open in the flat two plays in a row and carson zeroed ion on garbage
Blow it up.
doug pederson coach of the year baby
eagles arent even going to get a bye much less home field
They will never win again
I'm going to go burn my Wentz jerseys.
this is not the ideal spot for vaiti to exist
tripped feet on seattle = pick it up
tripped feet on philly = penalty
CONSPIRACY
oh now you gonna hit em in the flat
Wtf was that? That's the give up throw you do at the end of the game, not the one you do with 2 minutes left.
Well that's a kick to the scrote.
I can't think of a better way to end the game than a Maxwell pick
I guess Wentz just got tired of playing in this one.
worst pass ever...........it wasnt hail mary time

I can't believe I lived long enough to see this team collapse so spectacularly that they might never recover. Is this what being a Browns fan is like?

My line of thinking, next week will speak volumes. The offense sucked, the defense sucked, Doug was god awful...do they rise up or do they fall apart. This loss is whatever, they haven't lost since September farging 17th and were playing a desperate Seattle team in prime time at home.

on the surface they won 9 in a row...shot themselves in the foot with a fumble at the goal line, a few dumb penalties and one very bad coaching decision (among many other dumb decisions). not to mention wilson played out of his mind.
they are still 10-2. beat the rams next week, you can see 14-2. thats good!
lose to the rams....and ehh you may have a first round game against seattle and it could end real quick

Wentz was awful, Doug was worse, but the defense played like a defense playing against Russel Wilson.
the 4th and inches punt was a million times worse than the non challenge and the non challenge was bad
This loss is on Doug. They played scared the first half. Game was lost there.
Biggest issue no ones mentioning is Vaitaii was getting toyed with by Clark. They left Celek out there to help him before, tonight they just hung him out to dry and we saw the results.

i mentioned it for 24 hrs
I was a little surprised that the Eagles lost but Seattle is usually a tough team to play at home. I'm sure that Philly will regroup, it should have been something of a wake up call. I think maybe Pederson might have put things on cruise control because the NFCE title is not in doubt at this point. He's only a second year NFL head coach so he's still learning the ropes and in crunch time in the NFL this time of year, stranger things have happened.
It's better to lose now and have the chance to get the house in order then the very tail end of the season.
so, time to reboot & roll right ?

yeah zero adjustments were made....it was baffling
Andy gave up playcalling in KC to take over for Doug. That bastich.
Sometimes NFL coaches make decisions that don't make a lick of sense. Not helping Big V was like the Cowboys letting Chaz Green get pantsed for a full game with no help in ATL a few weeks ago. Celek and the backs should've been at his hip the entire game doubling and chipping.
The issues they've had for a few weeks manifested themselves last night. Sloppy execution and penalties. Combine that with the turnover, the playcalling, Wentz missing and being off and the red zone failures and we see what happened.
I'm over it. They'll beat the Rams.
They needed this loss. So did we.
Hope they make the proper adjustments going forward
That game was all about proper adjustments.
QuoteThe left side of the Eagles O-line surrendered 21 total pressures against Seattle last night. i.e. just two players!
The entire Seahawks offense only allowed 17
So the Eagles lost last night to a good Seahawks team and now motherfargers are diving off the train?
Too funny.

you still all IN?
I did my weekly re-watch of this game.
- If I'm a D coordinator moving forward, regardless of position, I'm posting my best pass rusher on Vaitaii. I wouldn't bring additional pressure to that side because there's really no need to. He was beat wide, inside, and toyed with. If the Eagles want to win they need to give him help the second he needs it. He's been whatever so far but he was completely exposed. Put Celek back on that side or have a guy like Clement chip block, then break off as a receiver. There was no adjustment.
- The left side of the line from Kelce over was horrid. The D line was shooting gaps, the Seahawks brought pressure up the middle and they looked confused on who they were supposed to block. Brooks/Johnson played a good game. Johnson squared Bennett up and stood his ground. PEDs are working.
- The first quarter was an absolute mess. It was hard to see the game plan. They started out with their typical out pattern to Smith, then it was sloppy runs by Blount and dink and dunk shtein down the field. That wide open miss to Agholor was huge. They live and die off passes over the middle to receivers, I think I counted two passes over the middle.
- Jeffrey hold at the goaline, ugh, why dude, why?
- Blount's a sloth. He's fine when he gets a hole but he can't cut worth a damn. There were times he just runs straight into the pile and there were holes if he adjusted. Ajayi ran well. Even during a second watch when he's getting tackled late in the run I'm afraid he's going to fumble the ball. He has great size and speed and hits the hole hard. There were a couple runs he came close to breaking, from his reaction he knew it too.
- The Wentz fumble was really the turning point. Credit Seattle, they made a play. Lesson learned for Wentz.
- Wentz is unbelievable when he's on his game. Doug needs to put total trust in him regardless of what defense he's playing against. He's earned it at this point.
- Penalties were worse during the second watch. The long PI called on Darby was a joke. He turns and goes for the ball, the receiver tries to leap over his back to catch the ball. There was nothing remotely close to PI. If any call was going to be made it should have been offensive PI. The holding calls on receivers were bad. On the flipside the sideline judge was in perfect position and missed an obvious facemask pull down by Darby.
- Where the hell was Rasul Douglas? Why is Darby getting his reps now? He's being targeted big time. He wasn't great prior to the injury and he's not good after. He doesn't have good instincts.
Anyway, game over, time to move on. Hopefully this is used as a learning experience. The Rams game will speak volumes for the rest of the season.
its amazing what happens when you actually have a tough game....their schedule to this point has been a farce...by far toughest test of the year and they failed
silly me for actually having confidence in a doug pederson team
we know they arent superbowl ready yet (nor should they be expected to be) but this week will be the true test of whether they are frauds or a good but up and coming team...seattle been there done that and knows how to play in big games
but the rams are just like the eagles...no excuses this week

The Eagles beat the Seahawks if that sunday night game is at the Linc. No question in my mind. They were overwhelmed early on by the crowd noise and atmosphere and the Seahawks reputation. Wentz had that deer in the headlights look. Credit to him he shook it off and played a good second half. They've been on cruise control since the Panthers game. They got punched in the mouth.
I would lean to that side and agree if the game were in philly, the eagles win, but that said, this team better learn how to win in big games on the road real fast.
In the long run, I think they could benefit from this loss way more than had they won. It was a good reality check. They didn't get blown out. Self induced gunshot wound to the dick did them in as much as the Seahawks did.
Pederson was shook. He punted early in the game in a situation he normally goes for it and he was scurred to throw the challenge flag on the lateral. That's a situation where you gotta just throw the flag for the sake of throwing it. Even if it fails, the defense gets a few minutes to rest. But that was a 3rd down play and would have gotten them of the field. Instead, Seattle scores like 3 or 4 plays later. Don't wait for the guys upstairs. Seattle hurried back to the line for a reason. Just throw it. We're all used to poor TO management anyway.
