A lot of things need to be cleaned up to win this game
1. Game before a bye - stay focused
2. Wentz's accuracy especially with that Broncos secondary lurking
3. Lane played like shtein today. Do that again and Miller has six sacks
4. Vaitai also needs to clean it up. Keep Celek in a lot to help both T's
5. Doug needs to adjust his play calling and personnel a bit
If this game was in Denver I'd say definite loss. Denver's OL is s disgrace. I see another close sloppy game.
3rd straight road game for denver and they play mnf in kc
total schedule win for the eagles
Denver is not good.

Vance Joseph says the choice is between Siemian and Osweiler. Seems like good choices all around for the Eagles.
I felt like that when James Mungro started for an injured Edgerrin James
It's such a coin flip with quarterbacks. There's practically no (relevant) film of either Lynch or Osweiller in the current offensive system for Schwartz to try and find any particular tendencies with play calling or anything, so teams starting a backup (or even when they go to their backup mid-game) can steal a win because the opposing defense just isn't ready for them. It's not a sure thing by any means, and the numbers probably favor the Eagles defense here, but it's definitely a real possibility that the Broncos can at least be effective on offense with either of those QBs for a game or 2 until the league gets some film on them.
lol yea the league needs film on paxton lynch and brock osweiller
osweiller has started like 20 something games in his career. theres plenty of tape on him. hes horrible. lynch is even worse.
the eagles had 1 game of tape on cj breathard and he picked them apart. oh wait. no he didnt. he blows, too.
and for the record joseph said its either simien or osweiller. no lynch.
I like how you argue 1 part of my post by basically agreeing with the 2nd part of my post, only using a lot more words to do it. That's a cool trick. Learn that in journalism school?

high of 70? what the farg i was excited for some football weather finally.
osweiller starting
free win
unless denver has quit
this game has 13-10 written all over it and could go either way
wentz is a better qb obviously than osweiler but they each have close to the same chance of putting up bad numbers sunday
eagle offense last week was not good and now they play the best defense they have faced all year and the other two kc and carolina they struggled against with jason peters
youre over thinking it and leaning negative which is as well know by now kind of your thing
its brock osweiller on the road against a good team with a good qb and a good defense. im not saying its going to be 35-0 but the eagles arent losing.
Example 1002...
Denver's O line is horrible, maybe the worst in the league...and Osweiler was cast off by the Browns.
Their D is still top 3 and play with the intensity of a team trying to make the playoffs. Eagles need to be careful with their play calling with the players coming off the edge and a solid secondary. I expect to see a lot of two TE sets.

They weren't, but I'm sure Schwartz wasn't up late at night thinking of ways to stop that vaunted offense. They just came off two big wins in prime time. You could tell the team was sleep walking through the niners game. Those games happen. I'm not expecting a big win, it's a non conference game and right before the bye.
Vegas has the Broncos getting 7.5. This is the first time since 2011 they've been more than a td underdog. To me that's a Broncos line all day long. So that's my biggest concern.

and you are a homer of romey/pg type proportions if you think denver has no chance
its the eagles offense without jason peters against a great defense.....the eagles defense is really good but if you dont think denver has a chance this game then you dont know football...anytime its close and low scoring something can happen that would allow either team to win...eagles should win but denver has a decent albeit not great chance to pull an upset
the real question is have they quit or is this their last hurrah to stay in it and do they play really desperate
Quote from: AO1 on November 01, 2017, 12:07:16 PM
Denver's O line is horrible
eagles stinks without peters....really the line with peters this year has been kinda overrated...not all their fault as doug has not shown an ability yet to scheme for blitzes...but combine these things and youll see wentz has been under a lot of pressure...
now hes been amazing at getting out of it and especially converting on 3rd downs but this has artificially inflated their production....now with peters out and just simple natural regression in a 3rd down conversion rate that no one could sustain (were 4-14 last week) and i expect to see very few pts this week....and once you get into a game like that all it takes is a crucial turnover or a special teams play to get upset
its just as fair to say that wentz can make a play or two that osweiler cant that can win the game but in general anyone who thinks denver has zero chance is brain dead
This game feels like 20-10 to me. Eagles in control all game and win comfortably but never really pull away.

Eagles O line was above average with Peters, without him it's average. I agree with pass protection being poor this season...run blocking hasn't been bad. I'd still rank the Eagles O line top 15.
Denvers O line is bottom 5. There's a big drop. I'm not one to say the Eagles can't lose this game because any given sunday, non conference game, before the bye, they can't win every game, Denvers D is scarey etc.

ways that the broncos win:
1. destroy the run
yards given up to some good backs this year:
melvin gordon: 54, 38
zzzzzeke: 8
shhhhhhady: 21
beast mode: 12
kareem hunt: 46
2. destroy kelce
3. destroy vaitai
4. dial up some blitz looks that make dougs head explode
5. get a late turnover
ways that the eagles win:
1. show up
eagle writers trolling hard...
QuotePaul Domowitch: The Eagles have won six in a row and the Broncos are reeling, having lost three in a row, all by double digits.
They have benched Trevor Siemian and turned to Brock Osweiler, a guy with a career 77.3 passer rating. That's the good news. The bad news is the Broncos have a very good defense that is pretty much going to make it impossible for the Eagles to run the ball Sunday and make points hard to come by in general.
What the Eagles are going to need is for their defense to force a couple of turnovers that the offense can turn into points.
This game is going to be close. It's still going to be anybody's game deep in the fourth quarter. But the Eagles will win. Maybe on the leg of Jake Elliott. Maybe even with no time left on the clock.
Prediction: Eagles 20, Broncos 17
Les Bowen: I figure at this point, you have to just go with the flow, even though the longer streaks last, the closer they are to ending. Even though the Broncos' defense is quite capable of bringing the Eagles down to earth.
I'm taking the Eagles to win and to cover, and the heck with doubts. Maybe the Broncos' offense will be better with Brock Osweiler than it was with Trevor Siemian, but I like the Eagles' defense against the guy who couldn't win a job in Cleveland this year. Good time for Lane Johnson, who played poorly last week, to really show us something against Von Miller.
Prediction: Eagles 20, Broncos 10
Jeff McLane: The Broncos defense may be the best the Eagles will face this season and that includes the Seahawks. Edge rusher Von Miller is always a potential game wrecker. Corners Aqib Talib and Chris Harris can lock down receivers on either side in man coverage. Inside linebacker Brandon Marshall is a three-down field marshall. And that's just a small sampling of the Denver's elite defenders. Carson Wentz and the Eagles offense will have their hands full. They may need new running back Jay Ajayi to step in immediately and make an impact against a stout run defense – the Broncos are allowing just three yards a carry. The Eagles will need tight end Zach Ertz, who suffered a hamstring strain in Thursday's practice, to be healthy and bring his best. The Eagles aren't exactly slackers on defense either. And they face an offense that will have a new quarterback under center after Trevor Siemian was benched for Brock Osweiler. C.J. Anderson is a tough runner and Demaryrius Thomas is still a productive receiver, but the Denver offensive line should be susceptible against the Eagles' pass rush. Brandon Graham could give tight tackle Menelik Watson all he can handle.
Prediction: Eagles 20, Broncos 17.
Zach Berman: This is a tough matchup for the Eagles, even if the Broncos are on a three-game losing streak and made a quarterback change. Denver's defense can play with anyone and keep them in any game. The Eagles must rely on Carson Wentz, whose wide receivers will have hard time against Denver's cornerbacks. Don't expect offensive fireworks against the NFL's No. 1 defense that keeps opponents to 188 passing yards and 73 rushing yards per game. Tight end Zach Ertz will be the key, like Travis Kelce was for Kansas City last week. That's the matchup the Eagles can win. The key will be whether the Eagles defense forces turnovers. Brock Osweiler emphasized ball security in his public comments this week. If he avoids the turnovers that plagued Trevor Siemian, the Broncos can pull off the upset. But Denver is minus-11 on the year in turnover differential, and my guess is that will be the difference in the game on Sunday.
Prediction: Eagles 23, Broncos 21
I don't think it'll be a blowout. Broncos will cover the 8
all black uniforms for the birds sunday
i like den +8 too but man if the line going up up up doesnt make me feel warm

Wentz hard count is killing defenses this year.
Wentz is a wizard. Maybe even a Grand Wizard.
That was nice
That was a great playcall
Ajayi is keeping the defense honest just by faking the run
That pass is proof that Wentz has a weak arm.
What a play call...totally got the D. The pass...perfect. Jefferey is money.
Curry and Cox just killed a man.
Curry trying to earn his money.
Graham's little shift right before the snap on that play was all the difference.
Denver is not a good team.
Typical Eagles, beating up on another sub .500 team.
Suffocating run defense

They either needed a lot more urgency after the Clement run or a TO
I think they decided only way for Denver to get back into the game would be for a turnover there so they were going to end the half. Not sure why to do it halfway though. Either run the 2 minute offense or go to half.
Jeffery has a lot of good moments but also way more drops than I expected.

so i'm not ALL IN until they beat dallas in two weeks, but i was telling people at like 10 this morning at the tailgate that there is just some really good vibes going on right now. it obviously got even better once the game started but i'm telling you something good is happening.
also jamaal jackson, barrett brooks and sheldon all came rolling through our tailgate. i am not embarrassed to admit i was giddy to take pics with them.

you should be
nah
We have 8-10 regulars who watch the games week in and week out at the pub and none of them, including myself, can quite believe what we're seeing.
The Eagles have lost their best running back, (Sproles) their best offensive lineman, (Peters) their best cornerback, (Darby) and their best linebacker, (Hicks) yet thru it all they just say "next man up" and seem to improve after every loss. It's just ridiculously improbable.
I still expect disaster because it's what we do best but you know... you just never know.
I'm just saying maybe and after all these years of crushing disappointments, that's a pretty big stretch for me.
its more wentz is amazing than next man up
hes not pulling these games out of his ass like rodgers has to do but hes the mvp of the league. if they have those injuries with say, matt stafford or cuzzo, theyre on 3/4 wins
Foles had a better QB rating than Wentz, though.
Once they beat Dallas it's on. Today was nice but in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean shtein. I mean the 50+ points helps and it was fun as hell, like one of the most fun games in years, but it's still about Dallas.
Also, I need to see them stop Zeke and then I buy SB tix.
doug p, very special guy

God, those sideline jackets are so terrible.
You don't like camo?! Go back to Isis, commie
He's not from ISIS. Everyone knows they kill gingers because they're devil. Except for Wentz of course. O:)
It's not so much the camo, as the floating off-center square on the torso. WTF is that??
Just watched the clip...pretty sure some player dyed his hair green
