agreed
they aint goin out there an winning
they couldnt throw for over a hundred yards at home until the 4q today
i said this before but its a classic philly sports loss
chargers looking for their first win in la...playing in a soccer stadium full of eagles fans...3rd straight home game....ive seen this play before
not to mention the eagles arent very good
unless an exception is made, right now the game is not even airing in LA
just philly and san diego, plus a few smaller markets around the city id assume.
Melvin Ingram is a beast and will probably murder AO1
Melvin Gordon left the game yesterday but I haven't heard what the problem was. But I am sure he plays.
Cox & Hicks need to be healthy

The NFL has already arranged to allow the local FOX affiliate to show both LA games against the CBS doubleheader. CBS is likewise going to get some Rams and Chargers games they shouldn't get later in the season.
id feel a lot better about this game if the chargers had a win

im a dork and i looked up the fox LA tv sked on their website and the game isnt on there. they are allowed to show a home game against a 425 DH, but the rams play at 100. this a different situation. non DH network only gets 1 game per market.
not to mention even if they air the game, if the rams game goes past 400, then LA cant even see the beginning.
not that anyone in LA cares

Classic! We were in Southern Cal in june 2001 during the NBA Finals. So awesome being there after the Sixers won game 1. We watched the first half of game 2 at a restaurant outside the park but I it was our last night there so kind of obligated to go for one last visit to Disneyland. I was walking around with my radio headsets on listening to the second half. I remember being in line to go on the Peter Pan ride and my wife just shaking her head.

And SD, ESPN Zone can be a major shtein show on NFL Sundays. Tried to get in to the one at Downtown Disney in Anaheim one year to watch the birds/cardinals and it was a complete cluster farg. Gave up and ended up at some cool Italian place that had tv.
You're in town Don Ho?

Disney Springs might.
"Disney" is like 50 square miles. There's an Orlando Ale House just outside Disney Springs plus about a thousand other places to watch the games. Talk to the concierge at the hotel. He or she will hook you up.

all you idiots complaining about joe buck got no clue
Better than Romo; that guy's the worst
Being at a sports bar for most games I rarely hear the commentary anymore anyway. I didn't hear Buck until the very end because the bar got dead silent just before the kick. I honestly thought, "holy shtein, that's weird... he's gonna make it" just before the snap.
I'll take Stockton over buck any day even if it's just to hear his voice...Stockton is the nba and my childhood all day long ...hearing him call Andrew toney the Boston strangler might be my greatest sports moment ever....I love the man

this game opened at birds -2 and now is chargers minus 1-2 presumably because of all the injuries

It's looking like Fletch is going to miss this game. On the plus side, Hicks and McLeod should be back, and the team has more depth along the line than at either of their positions.
cox is all but assured of missing next week as well

Maybe pump the brakes on the Rasul Douglas praise.
Did Zach Ertz make a deal with the devil for his hands or something?
jake elliott get yours
I guess we just feel comfortable with anything less than a 61 yard FG now.
rasul douglas getting exposed
We knew the Secondsry is a band aid but this pass rush is embarrassing
Gonna be a long ass second half for Douglas
Looked like multiple plays in the endzone there where I would have called the Eagles for PI.
Put out an amber alert for Vinny Curry, I haven't seen him since the brutal offsides he committed near the start of the game.
eagles should be up more but they arent good enough to blow anybody out so
Dick Stockton's out there looking like pre-surgery Jerry Jones.
Has Nigel Bradham ever made a play on a pass play?
stockton and schlereth making doug p look competent
Nice to see the entire defense blowing ass as a unit
rivers with a temper tantrum odb would be proud of

Holy shtein Rivers is a crying bitch.
Ertz is a better WR than Torrey Smith.

Eh, maybe not, dragged his feat. But hard to say he has control of that ball before his knee hits.
Apparently not too hard for the refs.
That's too close to overturn IMO.
Lol
Jenkins needs to start focusing on football. He sucks.
this little gook is going to finally hit a winner and of course itll be against the eagles
All it would take is one stop in the second half up 2 scores to end it but can't get off the field. Becoming a trend in the second half for the defense.

this farging team
That was a helluva game by the OL and the backs especially Blount
Hat tip to Doug too...he stuck with it.
I wanted to choke him for that goal line sequence though
I hate the stretch play run and I also hate the rollouts on the goal line. Andy did that shtein and it infuriated me then too
they win this much easier if jones/darby are your corners instead of douglas/mills. it is what it is with them...they are slow and not superior athletes. but they did enough.
thought wentz played pretty well. a few drops were killer here and there. danced around too much in the pocket instead of getting rid of it. but he didnt turn the ball over for the 2nd straight game which is another victory in itself
game ball goes to the oline. they were dominant. rbs were mixed in with no rhyme or reason, which is fine. blount looked like a 24 year old. where the farg did this come from? clement got a huge 3rd down in 4Q. smallwood got the td. you gotta do this kind of thing without an elite talent rb.
some dumb play calls from doug at the goal line, as he will, but he was flawless during the final 6 minutes. credit where credit is due.
arizona sucks. they should be 4-1.
That last drive was a thing of beauty. The best part was when they kept showing fargface Rivers on the sideline literally chewing his lip in furious impotence.
Bye Philamena.
whats worse the nfl or doug?
right now, the NFL
They're 3-1 despite not having their best player (Cox) on the field and without having a legitimate starting cornerback on the roster who isn't hurt.
And that last drive was terrific, play-calling included.
Mr Havas
What did you like about today's game?
some people cannot be happy unless its about the SIXERS
Wentz still hasn't had a 3 td game
wentz is far from perfect but this is a big league pass right here.

his deep-ish balls to agholor and ertz were money throws but this is the kind of stuff that can put him in a different level. youve got bosa coming across your face and a DB about to destroy you. hangs in. makes the throw. takes the hit. AO1.

great job roger.
in LA, more people watched the saints/dolphins 630 AM slopfest than the chargers game
i wonder if the owners knew they would be taking a team out by letting the chargers move. yeah its bad for the optics of the league and a consistent bad headline, but you are removing 1/32 teams from competitiveness. and thats not counting the browns who do it to themselves.
Except the Chargers have been competitive in every game. Spanos is a disgusting pos and he deserves every ounce of embarrassment this is causing him. But it's a heck of a testament to the players that they haven't quit. Not yet anyway.

yeah, the players are getting the royal flush on this one. yeah I get it, they get paid good money, yadda yadda yadda, etc etc - but it must suck something fierce knowing you have to play 16 away games a season.

I highly doubt it. I'm not saying
some fans wouldn't jump ship but if you stop rooting for a team you've rooted for your whole life because they moved across the bridge you were never a real fan to begin with. Hell the Giants have been in Jersey their whole existence yet people from NY are still loyal.
not a single fan would leave if they moved to camden....probably not a single fan would leave if they moved to trenton
Quote from: SD on October 04, 2017, 08:53:55 AM
Hell the Giants have been in Jersey their whole existence yet people from NY are still loyal.
your point is still valid but giants have played more than half their existence in new york city....they didnt move to new jersey until the mid 70's
i picked central jersey because i was thinking of the closest place to philly that is not a part of philly. SD and LA are close but 2 separate markets. SD people dont like LA teams.
my point is though if the eagles moved anywhere outside of the philly area...pittsburgh, baltimore, toronto, mars, etc....i would be out. OUT. i would join the mob in raiding the novacare. if this was a 49ers situation where they left the city and went to another part of the delaware valley (lets say, wilmington), i would mad as farg but still in.
which is why i dont get out san diego people could still follow the team. this creep owner bailed on your city to be the 8th wheel in LA to drive up the price of his franchise and you're like...ok, cool, go chargers. pathetic.
san diego moved to a different city and changed their name....thats pretty much an automatic out for anyone
theres obviously exceptions....i know in baltimore theres old timers who will still only root for the colts...but in general no one in a city of a team who has moved and changed their name to another city is still rooting for that team
the one exception might be the raiders....people in oakland will root for them no matter where they go...but raider fans root for the pirate and the uniforms (which to be fair are probably the best uniforms in sports history) and the "raider way" more than they root for the team....in short they are weirdos
there are people from baltimore that still root for the colts? even after they moved in secret in the middle of the night. jesus some people are hopeless. thats almost worse than thinking a mentally ill businessman from new york is going to bring your coal miner job back.
they are ancient heads who saw johnny unitas play....they refuse to acknowledge the ravens exist and know nothing other than the horseshoe...there isnt many....i was just using them as the exception to the rule
There are precious few and they don't rep the colts in public. This town is all in on Ravens
If the Eagles moved, and twenty years later a new team moves in and gets a ring within five years I'd probably be all in, too.
I know an old lady from Maryland who stayed a Colts fan through to today. She herself moved away from Baltimore at that time, and so she has no attachment to the Ravens, and the Colts moving didn't functionally mean much for her. She explained it to me that in 1984 she liked the team more than she hated the Irsays, and she wasn't about to become a Racists fan.
I guess the closet example philly has to something like this is when the warriors left and the syracuse nationals came here to become the sixers.
maybe 5 people liked the nba at that point. i have never run into any person who stayed with the warriors or even heard of such a thing. there are some people that loved wilt more than anything but thats about it.
the point is yes we root for laundry but more than anything you root for a city. when the city affiliation goes away there's nothing left to root for unless you are a weak minded fraud. its like choosing you brother in law over your sister if she gets divorced.
