Title: Week Seven - 2016
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on October 20, 2016, 08:04:12 PM
Packers vs Bears tonight

It'll be interesting to see if Rodgers still looks like he's playing while stoned. Lacy is out and they traded to Knile Davis but he just got there so who runs the ball? A FB and a WR that's who.

Maybe the Bears listen to Alshon and "score farging touchdowns"

I think the NFL should cancel Thursday Night Football after this game and admit it's not working out.

Yep. It's pretty awful.

So are the officials. Flags galore

they need to find better teams to put on the national games

they are getting super unlucky this year with all these bears games

also the packers are trash, that doesnt help

Also these mid-week games seem to be injuring more guys, and the teams seem even less prepared than Vaitai. Put some good teams on TNF and maybe they won't be that good.

But they're shoving Tenny vs JAX down outlet throats again next Thursday

Probably in smurf blue vs baby shtein yellow uniforms too

theyre not shoving anything down your throat....theyre airing a game that you as a free american can watch or not watch. its actually a good idea to put those trash teams together than have them pollute 2 different games.

i dont disagree that the tnf thing isnt great, but the alternatives are
1. get rid of it and place these 15 games on sunday afternoon where nobody will see them. for better or for worse, this is football that you wouldnt otherwise be able to see
2. give teams a bye week before. would improve the product, but would hurt the sunday cards for cbs and fox and make scheduling much more difficult.

a good compromise IMO would be increasing saturday games, specifically late in the season as not to compete with cfb, adding 930 london games and limiting thursday games to early in the season (when bodies are fresher). that would keep the same amount of national tv games as is current and prevent consistent national tnf games that are subpar.

And of course lil guys disagrees. We've got Goodell Jr in the house folks!
Take away TNF

Split the Sunday slate evenly between early and late window.

im not disagreeing im explaining to you....you have zero clue about how the schedule is put together for tv

you are naturally only thinking of yourself with this stuff. what would be best for j? well j isnt John Q Football Fan. and j isnt the on the board of cbs/fox who are paying over a billion a year for this shtein.

the tv schedule is constructed to maximize exposure and ratings. the issue is its becoming increasingly difficult to pinpoint the games needed to accomplish that.

Was this about the Devonte Adams catch that was reviewed and upheld?   Because that was 100% the correct review call. Or was it something else?
Title: Re: Week Seven - 2016
Post by: PhillyPhreak54 on October 21, 2016, 08:49:32 PM
Yes it was and I worded my post poorly

I thought it was but what I was trying to convey is that other more indisputable catches have been overturned and his ball scraped the ground which invokes the Bert Emanuel rule.

Inconsistency on what a catch is

Post by: Sgt PSN on October 22, 2016, 12:01:34 AM
Gotcha. Thing with that catch though was that had it been called incomplete on the field, I don't think the replay overturns it.  I do think they called it correctly though and there wasn't enough evidence to take it away.

Jacksonville is never going to be good.

In what looked like a year they'd make that leap they're still shtein.

Bortles looks awful. Time to trade the Gus Bus in.

Didn't see the game but apparently they had a huge meltdown in the fourth quarter.  Players ejected?  Jags flagged for 13 penalties

But yeah they have to fire bradley and get an offensive guy in there to help Bortles

I agree they never should have sat him, but only because they paid him $12 million and his backup Geno is, at best, as bad as Fitz. The main difference between those two bad QBs is that at least Fitz can point to more than 2 games in his whole career where he played well.

the jets couldve had sam bradford, who is competent, for like a 2nd or 3rd rd pick

instead their season is over and their qb is crying. good stuff.

SC just showed highlights from a 1983 game between the Giants & Cardinals where the Cards kicker missed 3 FG attempts in OT, and one of them was like a 20 yarder. Game ended in a tie.
